I really love this idea and hope I remember to make them for Christmas this year. Is it too early to be planning the Christmas cookie menu? Thanks!

They looked great. But when I baked they came out very very flat. Also should I use a greased or ungreased cookie sheet. Please help!

I was really excited to make these cookies for cookie platters that I'm making for Christmas - and when I did make them I was thoroughly dissapointed when they were finished. The cookies went from being too doughy to take out of the oven, to burned, there was no in between-"perfect" stage. They were hard as rocks which doesn't qualify them to be "meltaways". I pride myself in my baking and could not figure out what went wrong or what to fix.

I made the meltaways. So easy it was ridiculous. And very yummy. I added peppermint extract instead of vanilla and also added red sanding sugar to the powdered sugar when I coated them. I served these at an open house for a friend and to my kids and hubby, loved by all.
