Mother Nature

Mother Nature thought it best for us to not have power for a day and a half. I’m one of the lucky ones as there are still thousands upon thousands of people with out power. Unfortunately, I lost all the food in my frdige and freezer and can’t restock yet as the local grocers around me were also without power and most are not getting shipments in till Monday. So if you don’t see something new for awhile…that would be why. In the meantime, head on over to Running with Tweezers and be jealous of the fabulous cookbook and chocolate that I won for winning the souper challenge. While your there offer her your congratulations as she herself just won HHDD #*…the risotto challenge.

In case you were wondering it was my Roasted Onion and Gorgonzola Soup that won.

Also I updated my recipe index so that everything is nice and current.

Hope everyone else is having much better weather than we are!!!!

  1. Yuck.. am sorry to hear about all the food you lost. I’m glad things are getting back to normal though. Congrats on the win!! Again – most deserving =)

I bought all the ingredients for the bleu cheese cheesecake and pear/onion jam – I can’t wait to make it! :D

  2. Oh my…. good luck with everything.

  3. Oh! So glad to hear you are ok – everytime I hear the news I think of all of the PacNW bloggers and hope everyone is ok.

Phx is sunny and warm, feel free to visit anytime. :)

  4. Sorry to hear about the power outage and your spoiled food. On the brighter side, congrats on winning the souper challenge and the DMBLGiT for the third month in a row! Pretty good for what you call a cheapie camera. =)

  5. Congratulations on winning! Your soup certainly looked delicious and put my Borscht to shame (poor photography on my part, but it tasted great!)!
It’s very annoying when things go wrong in the kitchen that you have zero control over!

  6. Hi, congratulations on winning the challenge.Loved the soup, will try it.
We lost power last year for 6 days!Couldn’t even get hotel room.froze almost to death and survived.Sorry about your’s and all that food:(
Atleast Christmas is still a week away.Enjoy the festivities!:)

  7. A very well deserved win. Sorry to hear about the power and losing all your food. That sucks.

  8. Congrats on the win! Somehow, when she was describing the winning entry, I knew it was you! Sorry about losing power; but I’m glad that it’s back. We’ve been having really warm weather here. It’s currently about 75 degrees. Not my idea of Christmas weather.

  9. I’m sorry about the crazy weather there, and all the food you lost. I’m glad you have power back!

    Congrats on the win!
