Cake. It’s what’s for breakfast….

*Good. Santa was super-duper kind to me and got me a Kitchen Aid 13 cup Food Processor. My old one is 16 years old and while the motor was fine all the plastic parts were not.
*Had this yummy cinnamon coffee cake that is easy and an overnight cake (see the recipe below). Went non-traditional for dinner and had steak and a seafood gratin. Followed with a brownie tart with hot chocolate and marshmallow ice cream (recipe later this week).
*As usual Crazy Cocker Spaniel made out the best. Which is why we are mean and play Deck the Dog with her. :P

In good news though you can all see that I picked up a date for New Year’s Eve. ;)
What did you end up getting? Was Santa kind to you as well?

  1. Yum, I’ll take the cake and you can have the date!

  2. I’ve never heard of an overnight coffee cake. It sounds delicious!

Glad to hear your Christmas went well and I hope you have a splendid New Years.

  3. I’ll take the cake over the date any time!
Belated Merry Christmas, sounds like yours was a blast.

  4. Oh am so jealous of your food processor! I only have a small one and have wanted a big 13 cup one for a while! I am glad you got one! Oh and I love a good coffee cake and this looks delish!

  5. How exciting! Love the way this cake looks…mmmm. I got a Cuisinart Ice cream maker as my kitchen item. A fun Vera Bradley bag that I wanted. My boyfriend did good and got me the sugar canisters for my Gail Pittman (nice pottery – Paula Deen has her pieces on her how) pattern…that is now discontinued. Still don’t know how he found it!

  6. I think the Biebs got the better end of the deal. Just sayin’.

  7. Biebs is so sweet, he makes my teeth ache and I have a sweet tooth!
