For two days for the first time I think EVER I had no butter. I truly feared for every one's lives as I thought for sure the apocalypse was coming. I also had no heavy cream, milk, and had a whole two eggs. I of course had the super baking bug with none of the supplies so I went in search of a recipe that didn't use butter, milk, cream, and only two eggs. I found one. I baked it. You aren't getting the recipe. I think I found a new substitute for traditional bricks. So if you are building a house or something let me know and I will email you the recipe. Though I think bricks would be cheaper to build your house out of instead of Greek Olive Oil Loaf Cake. The good news is that means I should be back to baking now that all is right in the universe now. And just to show love to my non-dairy peeps before you write me telling me you can make wonderful food without dairy, I know. MDP and I went to our friend B's house. The Muppet Movie comes out on DVD today. I am a nerd and preordered it. I can’t help it. I loved the Muppets as a kid and seeing the movie last Thanksgiving just warmed my little heart. There truly is a character for everyone. The science nerd in me loves Beaker. The sarcastic person in me loves Statler and Waldorf. For no apparent reason I love Gonzo’s girlfriend Camilla the Chicken. And of course my favorite of all time is the Swedish Chef. What about you, who is your favorite Muppet? Pigs in Space could always cheer me up and when Elton John sang Crocodile Rock in the swamp with the crocs singing along it was the first song ever to get stuck in my head. :) I have nothing but fond memories of that show so to show my support for the release I decided to make cupcakes with rainbow swirl frosting. Crazy week ahead of me. Hope everyone had a good and safe St. Patrick’s Day. I know I did…but then again I played hockey. :)Here are this week’s randoms: MDP has decided that he likes the new Ren in Footloose better than Kevin Bacon. Which has pretty much caused upheaval and many a woman wondering why I am still with him. :P Though in his defense I actually kind of agree and most of the people who argued for Kevin Bacon have not seen the updated version. MDP as of today now has two 14 year olds! Because my pinched nerve was getting lonely my knee decided to join in and get some fluid on it. It was bad for a while and thought it might have to get drained but luckily it looks like it is cooperating a little more. Ironically sitting around doing nothing like they told me didn’t seem to help it. Going and playing 5 games of hockey in 2 days did. :D Major props to the Capital One service rep who answered “Hello This is Peggy” when I called. I pretty much died laughing. … [Read more...]
