So yeah, in case you didn’t catch on to the picture of my ring MDP and I are getting married! Which is another reason I am working on wedding cakes as I will be making my own this time around (yikes). I’ll just make sure we have a very rustic theme so that the cake will fit right in. And if we get everyone at the wedding to lean (I guess we will serve a lot of alcohol) in the photos no one will notice if the cake leans. :P For those of you who follow me on Pinterest this should come of no surprise that I am getting married. Which if you love the joy that is wedding planning you can follow along and play the Peabody/MDP wedding game at home. :) I will tell you that it will be very laid back but lovely all the same. MDP didn’t get a real wedding his first go around and so he/we want to make sure our friends get to gather around and share our happiness. You my readers have been through it all with me. Going for drunk…

I’ll admit that I don’t really watch the Summer Olympics all that much. Canada doesn’t do well in the Summer Olympics (shocking…it helps to live in a place that has Summer) and while watching someone run with a gun and then out of breath have to shoot at targets is really hard…I don’t find it all that interesting to watch on TV. There is very little danger to the Summer Olympics. No one hurling down a mountain head first on a little sled with just a helmet that is there probably just to keep your brains in when you hit a tree head first. You know. Danger. I saw a poster that made the Summer Olympics into a drinking game and I figured that would make it far more interesting to me than just watching table tennis or synchronized swimming sober. And if you ever watch the Olympic profiles that alone will lead to you drink as well. Jimmy Smith was born in a box underneath the Brooklyn Bridge. Randoms…

I have been eating such random things lately just so I don’t have to move them over. We’ve invited people over for beer to help clear out the beer fridge. Sadly we are down to the beers and sodas no one wants and yet we are still drinking because we are just that lazy. I took that approach to my baked goods as well. I decided that no cake mix is coming with and so I decided to make something with that. When I had made Funfetti cake bars awhile back a reader sent me a recipe using cake mix for bars and I never got around to using them…until now. The mix ins are all up to you. They were what I had in my cupboard and the amounts are literally just what was left in the bag. You can adjust the amounts as you see fit. You can also change what you throw in there.
