Play Up Dessert with Oreo…

OreoSkeletonCheesecakeCup1

If you look almost anywhere on my site you will see my love of Oreo’s in all forms. So when Kitchen PLAY asked if I wanted to make a Halloween recipe using Oreo’s it was pretty much a no-brainer. I throw Oreo’s in just about everything from Rice Krispie Treats to ice cream to brownie bars to cheesecake. And my favorite way to make cheesecake…mini with an Oreo cookie as the crust. I had wanted to make something using the Halloween Oreo’s (not to be confused with the Candy Corn Oreo’s that I loved) but couldn’t find them. So I went with a mix of Golden (my favorite) and classic Oreo. And to make things a little more festive I made my Oreo’s into skeleton heads. And you get a chance to show Kitchen PLAY and Oreo what you can make with Oreo’s. That’s right… Kitchen PLAY is giving away two OREO Halloween prize packs filled with goodies like: a spider spatula and apron, pumpkin cupcake holders, a Halloween serving dish, Halloween sprinkles and of course, Halloween … [Read more...]

It’s so Fluffy, I’m gonna die…

wallabie1

So on Saturday I finally got to go to some place that I have been wanting to go to for years. And now that I have been I pretty want to move next door and go over every single day. Not only is is a Kangaroo Farm but a Christmas Tree Farm...which is pretty much the best combo ever. Talk about happiness 24/7/365!!! Anyway,  The Outback Kangaroo Farm was even so much better than I imagined! You really get to get in there and pet, feed, and hug (yes hug) the Wallabies and Kangroos (though the Wallabies are more of the lovers and now I need to find $1800 to own one...feel free to donate for that. :) ) If you live in the area you should totally go. They stop their daily tours this month until March but you can request a private tour. I mean COME ON how can you not want one of these. They were so gentle and so soft and when one of them cuddled with me...ahhh!!! MDP, his kids, and my future MIL all went. They all thought I was insane. I was by far the most enthusiastic of the … [Read more...]

Raisins? What Raisins?

cinnamonswirlbrioche2

Some of you saw on FB my yummy looking French Toast we made yesterday for the kids. Funny story: I kept telling everyone that I had made Cinnamon Raisin Brioche…because I thought I had. Until I sliced it open only to realize that I did not make Cinnamon Raisin Brioche just Cinnamon Swirl Brioche. Oops. So I quickly scanned the kitchen and sure enough over in the corner was the little bowl of raisins all measured out. :) Dear mind…where have you gone? Please come back. Nonetheless that was some serious insanely good French toast and totally worth me making the bread for it. And yes, I made the bread purposefully just to be made into French toast. MDP thinks it’s cool and slightly mental all at the same time that I do things like that. If baking bread purposefully for French toast is the most crazy thing I do I think we are all doing alright. And of course to make it better for us we made sure to use heavy cream instead of milk in our French toast egg batter. :P I had a crazy … [Read more...]

Fudge a little….

nutellahalloweencandyfudge3

At what point does a fudge become a lie? Technically it’s all a lie but you know. :) Lots of people fudge on their taxes (for the record IRS I do not :D). Probably the biggest fudge that women tell is “but it was on sale so it was fine”. But what they leave out is that those were Frye boots and while on sale still cost almost $300 with tax. Opps. Why no officer I didn’t know how fast I was going? There was a stop sign? I have a headache ;) This? This old thing? This has been in the closet for years. Yes, I made that from scratch. No your butt looks fine stuffed into those jeans. I’m sure probably one of those has come out of your mouth. I know it has from me. But does it make it right? No. One kind of fudge that is always right is chocolate. Chocolate is always nice to you…well maybe not your pants size. This was insanely easy fudge that I made even worse for you by adding Halloween candy to the top of it. It’s a great way to use up any leftover Halloween … [Read more...]
