Soon To Be Chubby Hubby…

chubbyhubbytruffle

One thing MDP gets asked all the time is “how do you not weigh 600 pounds?” Especially after they eat something I have made or they visit this website. :)What can I say…I like food. He does too. It’s one of the things we have in common (which there are a ton more than that obviously). But we do work out and we don’t sit around and eat they entire plate of cookies (though that depends on the cookie). MDP and I know we will never be skinny…and we have no desire to be. Besides needing a little cushion for the pushing ;) we just like food way too much. So when I was on Pinterest going through things I had pinned I saw a recipe for Chubby Hubby Truffles and decided I needed to make them. Mine are a little different in the fact that I stick to more of what the ice cream flavor is like….which is MALTED vanilla ice cream with chocolate covered peanut butter filled pretzels and ribbons of peanut butter. So I added malted milk to mine and added a ribbon of peanut butter to … [Read more...]

So not only do you get an over the top recipe today I am doing something I rarely do…a giveaway. A pretty yummy one at that. As anyone who follows this blog knows I don’t do these very often as I have to believe in the company or product. So when Harry and David offered up a gift basket to give away to a reader I jumped at the chance! I love them and their products!!! The hard part was picking which basket…you see what ever basket I picked for myself was the basket I get to give away. I looked and looked. And while I do love their pears this is the holiday season and I am a sucker for any and all things peppermint. I HAD to go with the Peppermint Glacier Tin Gift Basket. What comes in that? Peppermint Moose Munch Snack (10 oz.) (inhaled) Yogurt-dipped Pretzels with peppermint stringing (6 oz.) (also inhaled) 3 Chocolate Peppermint Petits Fours enrobed in Dark Chocolate with red stringing (0.5 oz. each) Peppermint Truffles (12 oz.) 2 Peppermint Frosted Chocolate … [Read more...]

Two Noggin’s Beats One…

My mother and I’s version of bread is what most people would call cake. :) As that point became clear when people made my Almond Joy Bread…I was told bread was used loosely. Live a little people. :P Since we are always talking about them and how one of these years my mom is going to write down some of the recipes for me and never does I decided that I would suggest strongly that we bake while I was visiting. So we baked three things I have wanted to bake and more importantly get the recipe for! I love this bread. The glaze gets hard (not like outside of chewy bread break your teeth kind of hard) and kind of seals the moisture in. We went mini with the loaves as we were dividing them up…as I needed to take at least one home to take pictures of. And for some reason my mother was insisting on keeping two herself. Then I tasted them and understood why she was hoarding. And p.s. because someone will ask...no I don't know how it will turn out if you use real rum. The recipe … [Read more...]

Holiday Road…

Most of you noticed that I haven't been around the last couple days. MDP and I loaded up the dog and hit the road. And had a lot of fun in case you can't tell. We got to stare at this every day. And stare at crazy cocker spaniel's "grandma" cook Thanksgiving dinner. And look at this view... While skiing. Then my  mom and I got our bake on...all of which will be featured this week on the blog. That above is Egg Nog Bread. She patiently (hahaha) waited for anything to fall. These scones will make you weep...but in a good way. Dried Apricot, White Chocolate, and Toasted Walnut. Amazing. A little holiday shopping...get your Bieber stocking while you can kids! :) And the tree is up. Which makes Peabody a happy, happy girl. … [Read more...]
