Peanut Butter Chocolate Overkill…

So yeah it’s over kill. Yeah you are probably going into a diabetic coma just looking at the photos. Yes there are three peanut butter cups in that. :)

So you are probably saying how on earth do you have leftover peanut butter cups? I know right? I blame my mother. For real. She taught me that if you were having a dinner party for 10 plan for them to eat as much as 50 people. Every time we went to the store we bought a bag of candy for the last month and a half. We didn’t get as many trick or treaters as we thought. Though we didn’t get our pumpkins messed with as we are a very popular house to those that did visit….because we were like here take 12, 13, whatever. :P

I still have a dead wasp on my floor by my computer for weeks now. I refuse to pick it up. Know why? Two words: Zombie Wasps. They are real. I know he is just waiting patiently on me to give in pick him up and then he will have me.

I have had a couple people get mad at me for still posting on my blog when the crisis is happening with Hurricane Sandy. First off what happened/happening to those people is dreadful and I cannot imagine, I do still have friends back east who have no power and /or water. No one was mad at me when I was posting and all the people in Haiti died, no it wasn’t until it happened in our own backyard. Which always makes me extra sad that people don’t care about things unless it’s happening to/in the US. Tragic things happen every day all over the world. I’m still baking. I am sorry if that offends you.

Since it is November I decided that I would take time to say thanks to my favorite food and a couple non- bloggers out there. Since I am not posting every day I’ll do about 4 at a time. Be sure to check out all their blogs.

Thankful for Blogger #1: Baker’s Royale: I cannot tell you how much inspiration this blog brings to me. I enjoy when other bloggers like to make you as fat as I like to make you. :P And in creative ways with wonderful photography.

Thankful for Blogger #2: Closet Cooking: While I am allergic to half the ingredients Kevin normally uses (he likes the spice) I do love his blog. And Kevin in person is beyond awesome. He had to put up with me all weekend long at IFBC and let me tell you that is not an easy task. :)

Thankful for Blogger #3: Simply Recipes. Elise has been around for a long time (I think almost 10 years now!) and with good reason she runs a great blog. If you are ever in need of just like the title says a simple recipe this is the place to get it.

Thankful for Blogger #4: How Sweet it is. I fell in love with this blog when I discovered that Jessica and I share a love of all things cake batter and bacon.

And now back to this overload…which was made with my goalie in mind. He loves crème brulee and desserts like that so I thought of him when trying to use up my candy. What makes it even more overload is the fact that there is a full size peanut butter cup at the bottom of each one. Oh yeah.

  1. I do not agree with the use of the words “peanut butter” and “overkill” in the same sentence. Such an event does not exist! Yummmm

  2. Oh my. I would risk the como and eat this in a heartbeat!

  3. *coma :)

  4. Nobody complained last year when people were still blogging after Irene, which devastated entire towns. (So basically, those people are saying that it doesn’t even matter if it’s in the U.S. — it only matters if it’s in NYC.)

You know how you have “leftover” peanut butter cups? By going shopping the day after Halloween and stocking up. I’ve got a fridge full of ‘em now. :)

  5. @KB valid point

  6. I have a question – if the people bothered by your blogging were so bothered by Sandy, why are they reading a food blog in the wake of said disaster? Hypocrisy…

  7. I once put on rubber cleaning gloves to pick up a dead wasp *with* a paper towel. I was so scared it would all of a sudden “awaken”. So I know how you feel. :)

  8. Jessica D. says:

Completely agree with Tia…why are they reading it if it was a sin for you to post it?!

  9. Good gosh woman, I’m surprised I’m not 1000 lbs by now just from reading your blog! I just can’t resist anything peanut butter-chocolate. ^_^

For some reason I had never read Baker’s Royale before, but I’m a huge fan of the other three. They’d definitely be on my list too!

  10. I can’t believe there are others that cook like my husband and I. We always make enough for 50. When you’re invited to our house, you need to come hungry and pace yourself.
PS: The post de creme look delicious.

  11. I’m in New York so I was actually right in the path of Sandy and I continued to blog. Didn’t know that was wrong. And besides, I have a print button so I know I have a high class blog. :) I assure you that no peanut butter cup would survive long here!

  12. People are mad at you for blogging after Sandy??? Give me a break. Everyone who wasn’t affected by the hurricane still went to work. This is your work. Shutting down the whole country doesn’t help anyone. Jeez.

I’d ask the complainers what they’ve been doing since Sandy. I hope they are just sitting motionless and not eating or sleeping or working or watching TV.

  13. Mmmm this looks amazing. I can just taste it now :)

  14. Thank you for continuing to blog through Sandy. I was one of the lucky ones to still have electric, water, etc., but with no public trans, no gas for cars and trees down everywhere, we’ve been pretty much marooned for almost a week. If it wasn’t for all my favorite blogs and hulu, I would have lost my mind. So thank you. PS, if you ever find yourself in a similar situation, there are 58 episodes of Quincy available on hulu.

  15. YOU… are truly amazing. thank you so much for including me on this list. i am so honored because you are seriously one of theeee most amazing blogs out there and i want to eat every single thing you make. i cannot even imagine the damage we could do together in the kitchen for a weekend. or heck, just a day.

  16. @jessica- that would be a lot of damage :-)

  17. Hi there,

I hope you outlived hurrican Sandy allright?

The beautiful picture of the jars filled with choc n peanutbutter caught my eye at pinterest, posted by you! I repinned your pin and while I was reading you recipe water filled my mouth…!! I have a small shop on the internet witch includes some recipes, can I translate yours and put it on?
I quess it is allright, but it seems better/nicer just to ask.
And now I am gonna see the other recipes on your site, hmm!!

  18. @Catherine you sell recipes? If you profit from it no. Only blogs that remake the recipe can post about it with original pictures that they take.
