I owe you…

I feel like I am in a race. And one I am losing at. :) Today I went around to my 4 different advent calendars (yes I love those things!) and while marking the Day 8 I felt the heart rate peak just a bit. 16 days. It’s not going to happen. What I need to get done in that time isn’t going to happen.

I’m an online shopper. I like the convenience of it. I like that if I am watching Big Bang Theory and MDP says “oh I like that one” in reference to one of Sheldon’s shirts ( like this one he wanted…and owns The Big Bang Theory Robot Evolution T-shirt Tee)that I can just go on the iPad, look it up on where to buy, and with a click it will be at my door in 5-7 business days. BUT at holiday time it’s a bit different. You order it says it’s in stock and then you get the dreaded email that it’s on back order or they just outright cancel your order. Well crap on toast and poop on a stick.

So this year I am giving I Owe You’s. Not exciting I know but they will get the gift eventually. I wrapped it up in a box. I printed out what you are GOING to get and I’m hoping for the best. :)

I wasn’t kidding when I said I went on a fudge making rampage the other day. I originally was just going to make Cookies and Cream Fudge but I still had quite a few packages of Gingerbread Oreo’s that I hoarded when I went to Wal-Mart oh so many weeks ago. I think that gingerbread and white chocolate go really well together and these turned out quite lovely. I panicked at first because I thought it was too soft. But they do firm up in the fridge.

So what about you? Are you ready? Can you get it all done in 16 days???

  1. I have yet to try the Gingerbread Oreos! I love the golden oreos and I love gingerbread -mmm, I bet they’re great. And gorgeous fudge!

  2. Online shopping IS so convenient..and you can find wished for things you cannot find anywhere else..My daughters are great online shoppers..
    I manage..
I just tried ordering something from Etsy and she couldn’t..but then I had another idea and my tried and true on Etsy came through:)
It’s wonderful to live in Canada.. and buy ..and the seller lives in the US and ships before Christmas:)
This recipe looks like something my daughters would love..
Thank you for all the recipes:)

  3. I’m guilty – I admit it! – but not of shopping late…of having bought my first Christmas present in July. I was “done” by the end of October with Christmas shopping, and I’ve picked up a few extraneous stocking stuffers/”oh-she-would-love-this”-’s since then. The only thing I haven’t bought is a few perishable foodie items that I know won’t be on backorder.

I happen to have a package of Gingerbread Oreos in my pantry…and I always have the ingredients on hand for marshmallow-creme based fudge. :) Oh, yum, here I come!

  4. Not one thing purchased yet & all I do is shop online!

Need to try the Gingerbread Oreos! Love gingerbread!

  5. I can’t beleive Chirstmas is in 16 days. Where did all the time go? It just isn’t fair, but I’m home from college, so at least I’ll have all the time in the world to decorate, bake. and buy presents :)

  6. I have no clue how I’m going to get everything done. We still haven’t put our tree up, we have only picked up one persons gift so far…and to top it off we are going to visit my in-laws next week for five days. I’m slightly freaked out that we won’t be able to get everything done in time.

  7. I’ve definitely done the wrap up the print out of the gift. I’d rather they get that specific gift and have to wait a little, but it’s still frustrating. Good luck!

  8. I need to find these Oreo’s haven’t seen them here in Cali. Love the photos and as usual can’t wait to try this. Thanks!
