Adjustments….

Butterfinger Butterscotch Blondie Cups

So of course the big elephant in the room is the fact that my site oh you know looks NOTHING like the old site whatsoever. And in fact it doesn’t look like most sites, which is totally the appeal of it to me. It’s going to take some time for me to get used to because it is so different…and for you too.

One thing people commented is that they notice the ads more (sorry about that). Mostly because of the stark white background now they don’t really have anywhere to blend in…and I no longer have a top header (which at first freaked me out…even though it was MY idea…but I’m used to it now and love it). But to help things seem less ad covered click the close button on the bottom ad and that helps in my opinion. Just remember since I haven’t won the lottery or found a life sponsor (feel free to apply) I need to run ads to run this site. Oh and BTW if you came to just the recipe page do me a favor and check out the home page…that’s what is really different.

A few things are still being tweaked and added and what not and you will notice a few more changes but the majority of it is done. And this is going to be the site for quite a while so get comfortable with it. :) One thing I added that is kind of fun is when you click on the picture it takes you to the recipe, you will notice at the top it will now show you the previous recipe and the one after it as well. You know just in case you missed something. :)

If you are doing the challenge than you watched the second training video today that gave you the main principles of what Sarah believes for losing weight. I agree with her wholeheartedly. I have a post going way more into depth but I will say that I know I am not only an emotional eater but a bored one (which is why this program helped me in that area…to really recognize that and my patterns). I also eat food because it taste good. :P Darn good. If you are not in the challenge you still may want to watch it…it’s about 10 minutes and has “spoke to” a lot of people and it resonated with them.

Speaking of food I want to eat…these Butterfinger Butterscotch Blondie Cups. Halloween candy is out in full force and so will my baking of things with Halloween candy in them. Right away I bought butterfingers because my pants were getting too loose and I needed fix that. :) Remember to only buy a few bags at a time because if you are like me when I buy a lot of Halloween candy early the only place it end up at is in my tummy.

Butterfinger Butterscotch Blondie Cups

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 3 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract (I used Rodelle)
  • 1/2 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 ½ cups finely chopped Butterfinger pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat to 325 F. Grease a regular sized muffin tin that holds 12 muffins.
  2. Using a stand mixer with the paddle attachment cream the butter and sugars on medium speed.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, making sure they are fully incorporated. Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl after each addition. Stir in the vanilla.
  4. Add flour and salt until well combined.
  5. Fold in the butterscotch and Butterfinger pieces, trying to disturb as evenly as possible. Good luck.
  6. Using a regular size ice cream scoop, scoop one ice cream scoop per muffin tin. You should get exactly 12. If you didn’t, you scooped too much. If you have left overs, you scooped too little.
  7. Bake for 28-30 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted near the center comes out clean. Set the pan on a wire rack to cool for 15 minutes. Remove from pan. Serve with ice cream and salted caramel sauce.

  1. Katie Rose says:

I think what strikes me most about the new layout is that the “subscribe via email” button is no longer hovering over the paragraph I’m trying to read and getting in my way, so woohoo!! I like the new homepage with all the pictures, that’s a pretty big difference but other than that I might not have noticed the rest of the changes (sorry if that makes me not a best blog reader), and as for the adds, they don’t bother me. I usually have my adblocker up for all websites but I shut it off on purpose for your page because you are so upfront about it. They don’t bother me and every once it an admittedly rare while I actually click on a link either to support you or because I’m (Gasp!) interested in it. :-)

  2. @Katie Rose- yeah lots of people hated the pop up button but I did not have the skills to take it down and I knew the site redesign was coming so I didn’t want to have to pay twice. :) So it works out nicely. And thanks for having the ads show up, I really appreciate that.
And haha…I have clicked as well (even though I don’t get credit for my own clicks) to get coupons or to see sometimes. :)

  3. Love the new design – and this dessert looks AWESOME. :)

  4. LOVE the ice cream to cake ratio 😋

  5. Yes, please.

And I love the blog design Peabody! I’m getting inspired. . .

  6. Love the new look… both here and on the home page. :)

  7. Glad to see you added a print button.

  8. Even though I knew the redesign was coming, I had to stare until my boggled mind realized what had happened and what this strange new website was. Once I got used to it, I have to say I like it. It’s got a very clean style to it, but the layout is something unique. The picture of oozing warm butterscotch on a mound of ice cream on top of a blondie with one of my favorite candies in it doesn’t hurt either.

  9. Lovely new design! This is one decadent treat. Terrific!

    cheers,

    Rosa

  10. Love the new blog design and LOVE LOVE LOVE the blondie recipe! :)

  11. Here’s a dumb question….do you get paid if we click on the ads??? Because if you do, I will click on them each time I’m here. It doesn’t take that long. Nice new design.

  12. I love the new layout and design! …and I have a weakness for anything butterscotch so these might have to be my next kitchen adventure with my daughter.

  13. @Jackie- only click on ads that are interesting to you. :-) I get paid for that but I get paid for each page you visit (including when you leave a comment) as my ads are based on page impression (meaning each page you visit).

  14. Oh my gosh. Those blondie cups look so good!! I’m a butterfinger fiend, especially around Halloween and Christmas, so this is right up my alley. :)

  15. i love the way your page looks! you are definitinely on your way to becoming a “best blog” ;-P

  16. I really like the new site! It is clean and pretty and happy-looking, And this blondie looks incredible! Man I wish I had more time to bake. I haven’t baked anything in WEEKS because of school and I miss it so much :’(

  17. Hi Peabody, great new design and layout. I love seeing 10 posts at one time. It’s great when I’m trying to “re-find” a Peabody recipe I vaguely remember. As an inept typist, when I initially attempted to search bundt cake recipes I discovered you had no bunt cake recipes. My aging eyes would appreciate more contrast between the font color and background. Although my error could have been an “autocorrected search.” Thanks for adding the ZipList functionality. It’a another step towards becoming the “best blog”. You are awesome.

  18. Love the new site Peabody!! It looks great! And oh those butterscotch blondie cups…wow!

  19. Peabody,
You aren’t helping us lose weight by posting these gorgeous cupcakes! I pinned them. If I’m going to eat sweets, it’s going to be the real stuff. Can’t wait to make these.
