Define good….

Dear Santa, As usual this year the word “good” may be defined in a different way. :D I was always “good” at helping the economy buy always spending at least $100 at Costco or Target anytime I went. I am “good” at supporting the dairy farmers by using lots and lots of butter…as well as “good” at helping out the dentist of the world. :P I was “good” at constantly pointing out someone’s bullshit. This person lies sooo much that their feces could cover a Central American country. I was “good” at breaking parts of my body. I was “good” at swearing at my old printer that was always acting up. I was “good” at swearing at myself for playing poorly at hockey as well as swearing at the people I was playing against. I’m really, really, really “good” at pinning stuff on Pinterest. I’m almost medal worthy on that…. at least a bronze. I’m “good” at adding caramel to everything. :) And even if you don’t think any of … [Read more...]

Spice things up…

Dear makers of jeans, Why are you under the impression that I am 6’3” simply because I wear a 10/12 in jeans? Can’t I just be short and plump? Why do women who are above a size 4 have to be Amazon women? And what about the women who are size 4 and tall (other than the fact that I hate them :P)? The average woman in the USA is 5’4” tall and a size 14…yet at 5’6” my pants have what seems like an extra foot of fabric to them. Is this some conspiracy with the high heel makers of the world to force us all to wear 4-inch heels in order for our pants not to drag onto the ground? Or perhaps it’s a conspiracy with the seamstresses of the world to force us to go and get our pants hemmed. Either way it’s highly suspicious and a giant waste of material. And don’t even get me started on to how today’s plus size models start at size 6 and go to size 14. Ummm? Cindy Crawford would not have been able to be a supermodel these days. She would be considered a cow. She’s a … [Read more...]

About as random as you can get….

I was having writers block (still am) and insomnia from the Sudafed and so I thought I would just write random crap since I have had this recipe ready for days but nothing to go along with it. I think I am going to put my dog on DogShaming.com. She has a serious used Kleenex problem. She used to try and hide it like all good closet snot eating dogs should but NO she has gotten so brazen that she really doesn’t care if we are standing right there. I had a college moment today where the machine was down and I needed gas or else I wasn’t going anywhere. So I had to scavenger my car for money. Just a little over $6 in change. I felt like a moron paying the guy mostly in nickels but hey, it is what it is buddy. I had the slight need to punch him when he suggested that I only get $5 something in gas and buy a lotto ticket with a spare dollar. After months of searching I finally found Key Lime Pie Vodka…pretty much about as yummy as expected. Now I am wishing I never found it. … [Read more...]

Cider House Rules..

We sure did do a quick turnaround in temperature around these parts (in the upper 50’s for a high)…my hands are freezing as I type this. But I’ll take it! It was so chilly today that I busted out the hot apple cider…which meant once opened I needed to do something with the cider. Enter this pound cake. Our weather has been exceptional lately…which isn’t a common phrase used in the Seattle area much. :) The kind where the sun is out but it’s still cool enough to do whatever activity you see fit. And of course that great autumn chill in the morning that just awakens my soul. Since I live in Washington State there is no shortage of apple products, I am lucky that a local orchard makes its own Honey Crisp Cider that I have down right become addicted to. Which is hard because it sells out quickly and unlike candy you can hide a gallon of cider in a drawer. Well I guess you could try but that just screams trouble. It resulted in a quite yummy pound cake with a sticky but … [Read more...]
