Weighing my options…

Other than when is the wedding the other question people feel compelled to ask me is if I am going to lose weight for the wedding. First off not telling right now when the wedding is but I will say it’s a while off. Wedding planning is fun and pretty…why would I want that to end? :) Plus it’s nice to have a wedding board for a reason instead of the oh gee I want to get married I guess I should get a boyfriend board. :P As for the second thing….first off how rude? And second am I going to lose weight for the wedding? Maybe. I have been tracking what I have been eating and sometimes I let that influence my choices and sometimes I don’t. And if at the end of it when it comes time to throw on the wedding dress and I am smaller so be it. If not, oh well. I wasn’t proposed to when I was a bikini model. I was proposed to how I look now. And I look good. And I look good to MDP all the time. I mean the man has seen (and smelled) me at my worst as we play hockey together. Let me … [Read more...]

I’ve watched almost zero Olympics. I had no cable for days. In fact when I called to get my cable working the tech guy was trying to make conversation and asked if I was watching the Olympics. I said to him “think about why I am calling you” (it was for tech support because cable was scrambled) and he was like oh yeah. Then after they got it “working” the only channel that worked until a guy came out was the Olympics. So I refused to watch just out of spite. Now that I have Internet again…the unpacking has decreased dramatically. :) There is something to be said for not having your toys. When the guys moved me one of them saw my face on a jar of Spices (Taco Seasoning to be exact) from my Sam’s Club days. He was all excited and swore that I must be a Food Network Celebrity because I had my own spices. I tried to convince him that no FN Star would be living in a two bed room apartment. I’m still not sure he believed me. He seemed very excited I hated to disappoint … [Read more...]

Just like everybody seemed to love Eat, Pray, Love and I did not…everyone seems to love the book The Happiness Project. I finally got it from the library and meh. I mean don’t get me wrong, I’m all for being happy but there is a common thread among the book (and movie) Eat, Pray, Love and the Happiness Project. Which is if you are unhappy with things take a risk and give it all up and go find yourself and do what you love. Well awesome. Except all these people that write these books had the money to go do this. In reading the book she focuses on the fact that if something say like laundry really makes you unhappy…hire out. Oh great idea. Or if you hate cleaning your house and it takes up your time hire a house keeper. Again, wow, why didn’t I think of that? Oh wait…I’m broke. That’s right. She does other exciting things were she learns how to file papers in file boxes instead of stacks and tries to come up with a hobby because she thinks she should have one. She … [Read more...]

Peep show…

My Facebook was lit up today with what could probably be called Easter Basket Confessions. Lists of all the candies that people had eaten and how horrible they were for eating them…blaming the Easter Bunny for bringing it. Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs apparently being the devil. After reading the morning confessions and people’s pledges to hit the gym hard to be punished for their Peep eating I turned on the TV. Not much was on and I left it on Eat, Pray, Love. I will confess that I read and disliked the book and I watched and disliked the movie (which is why it got turned off). Pretty much everyone (female…men thought it was crap) I know loved the LOVE section. For me the only tolerable part of it was Eat. If you have never traveled outside of the US then you probably think that other women constantly punish themselves for what they eat. And in my experiences most of the other countries (Canada excluded) have a much better relationship with food than that of people … [Read more...]
