Interrogation week…

Chocolate Banana Mini Cupcakes with Fudgy Salted Caramel Frosting

I must have missed the memo that said it was email Peabody questions week. Holy cow. I am used to getting quite a bit of email but this week must have been REALLY slow at people’s work. None of them really hate mail either (so refreshing :P ) but some definitely quirky ones. So let’s answer a few shall we: We will start with my favorite question which won’t be addressed but was too interesting not to post: “I was just wondering if you were getting laid yet? If not, my brother’s roommate is a super nice guy with a good job. He loves the food I make for them from your website and says he finds you attractive. We live in the Seattle area. If you are interested, I can give you his info”. Wow. That is all. “What is your biggest pet peeve?” Well that’s kind of hard to say as it really changes daily depending on my mood. But since it’s the beginning of the year I have to say all the low carb people. I realize you lose weight doing it. I watch many a friend … [Read more...]

The rainbow connection…

Since I cannot for the life of me come up with a blog post here is a little review of 2011: 1. What did you do in 2011 that you had never done before? Had teenagers living with me every other weekend. 2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year? No I did not keep mine. Every year I set a goal to gain 16 pounds. I stayed the same this year. Next year’s resolution is to gain 16 pounds. 3. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011? Financial stability 4. What's your biggest achievement of the year? Winning the Better Homes and Gardens Home Farm Challenge 5. What was your biggest failure? When I accidently added a ¼ cup of salt to a pie when I wasn’t paying attention. Luckily it was just for me and not others to eat. 6. Did you suffer illness or injury? My white cells thought it would be cool to eat my red cells. Fractured toe. Pinched nerve. 7. What was the best thing you bought? I think we all know that … [Read more...]

Reindeer games…

Peabody currently is feeling a little bit like Rudolph. See I don’t get to play in any reindeer games right now…I know it as hockey. In fact I’m getting to do very little as of right now. A few months ago I wrote that my right hand was being weird and they chalked it up carpal tunnel from being on the computer and mixing stuff by hand often. But then about three weeks ago my whole right arm decided randomly to go numb. When it didn’t go away I went to the doctor. After poking and prodding my new internist, who I actually like, decided that it’s a nerve thing, with it most likely being a pinched nerve in my neck or shoulder. Oh goodie. Lucky for me the day I went unlike when I normally go, my pinched nerve was in full force, with me not even being able to touch my ring finger or pinky finger to my thumb. So he referred me to a neurologist and gave me never blockers until I got an appointment. Oh and uttered the words I dreaded to hear…no hockey until it’s no longer … [Read more...]

No such thing as too much chocolate…

Ah Cyber Monday, how I love you. In a day and age filled with people not having to interact with each other, I especially appreciate it today. Gone are the days of standing in line outside the Wal-Mart all night to possibly be one of the three people who will get the $100 plasma TV, only to be trampled on. Now I can only virtually be trampled on. I no longer have to deal with playing tug of war over the last My Little Pony and have to listen to some woman go on and on about how her daughter really needs it…so do I woman, this one completes my set. :P No more dirty looks or being cut off or even tackled (I saw that once at a Target at 6am). Though Cyber Monday is not without its draw backs. Sure I get to shop in the comfort of my pajamas and robes, but so do most of the people shopping at Wal-Mart year round :P. But by the time I load my cart up and go to check out, half of the great deals that were there, are now gone. Someone had up and stole it from me and I didn’t get to … [Read more...]
