Years ago there was a woman on Oprah. I don’t remember who and I don’t remember what she was even on there for but she was trying to convince women that they should wear sexy underwear every day. That they should not be just for date nights and that they would help you feel pretty every day. I have no idea why but at that moment in time that spoke to me and the next thing you know I had tossed out every pair of granny panties I owned. I’ve never bought an ugly pair of undies since because you know if I die in some tragic accident at least the firefighter when ripping off my underwear to save me is like…hey those are nice. ;) The same should go for clothing. I cannot tell you how many people when doing Weight Watchers would get mad that no one was noticing they were losing weight. They would tell me this while standing in baggy jeans and baggy sweatshirts. I would point out that they needed to buy clothing in the size they were now and everyone would protest. Got Crabs?

So I will admit that ever since Kristen packed her knives and went I have been not as interested in Top Chef Seattle. I’m happy that she is still kicking butt in Last Chance Kitchen but I’m bitter about it all the same. Like bad arugula bitter. If she doesn’t win I guess I will be routing for Josh because of how much he likes and uses bacon. This last week they left Seattle (boo and lame) and went to Alaska. They had to use Alaskan king crab to make something for the quick fire. While we can get king crab fairly easily around here most of us go for Dungeness because it’s from our reign and therefore more economical. We have a local place that makes Lobster Mac and Cheese and that inspired this Crab Mac and Cheese I made quite a while a go over on Northwest Noshings. It was popular over there so I thought in honor of the quick fire challenge I would feature it here. Feeling crabby…

We went to MDP’s work party this weekend…they like many work places that are busy during the holiday (end of year) choose to have their work party after the holidays. Before I got any hi nice to meet you (though I have met quite a few of the guys already) I had a shout out requests. :) “Can you do pulled pork again?” I asked what kind of pulled pork and I got any you do is great. “You owe me a peanut butter and chocolate cheesecake…I’ve been waiting patiently (and he really has…he said that a while ago).” Then the table kind of lighted up with realizing that I was the girl who was always sending food. And lots of people were kind enough to tell me that they loved my food. And then there is the guy to whom I am pretty much the crab and corn chowder girl. He asks all the time for me to make it and every time I say the same thing…not cost effective. Which he always says he will pay for it but I don’t think he truly realizes how much just the crab cost. …And I Feel Fine…

In case you aren’t up on current events you are going to die today…or tonight I’m not totally clear on that. I’m not sure if the calendar went UP TO the 21st and so you are good for today and then at midnight you kick off or if that we die today. Nonetheless we are gonners. I’m hoping that it happens at midnight (going into Saturday morning) because I have the late game tonight and so I would be playing hockey at the time and I am more than sure that is the way that I would want to go. Plus MDP would be playing alongside me playing hockey. And that would just be some sort of made for TV movie if ever there was one. You know, if we weren’t all dead. So because I’m going to die and it won’t matter here we go confession time: When I was 8 years old I wanted a stupid mirror heart that literally cost $.10 and I did not have that.
