S’mores random stuff…

First off Groundhog Day is tomorrow! I’m hoping for 6 more weeks of Winter…with snow. :) It’s February…ahhhhh. Slow down time, slow down. Crazy Cocker Spaniel gained four pounds in 2 months. She is on a diet. She is very, very pissed off about that. It leads her to eat any and all things she finds on the floor. Mmmm lint, the breakfast of champions. I should not drink a Red Bull at midnight and expect not to be wide awake at 4am. I went to an old stomping ground for one of my favorite treats…deep fried tater tots. They still had those but changed the whole menu (not for the better) and now served the tots with this very gross Organic Ketchup. No, no, no. Deep fried food deserves high fructose corn syrup! Highly upsetting and apparently if I ever go back I must bring my own condiments now. I won $8 in the lottery. My time is coming I feel it. It’s amazing when you clean and organize things how many missing things get found. :D And lastly Happy Birthday … [Read more...]

Summer is a season…

Dear Seattle, I still love you. I realize that I am one of the few that does but want you to know that. Please ignore all the people whining that they are not getting a summer. They are confused. Summer is not a weather pattern, but a season this year starting June 21st and lasting until September 23rd. So we are getting a summer, some of us understand this. Those of us who understand this also don’t complain about it, because as far as I know, no one can change the weather. You have whatever weather you are feeling Seattle. Maybe you recently broke up with someone and a little gray and rain are what is getting you through the day. Dear fellow Seattleites, Please stop actually praying for sunshine. Of all the things that are going on in the world, the weather seems like the most frivolous of things to worry about. If you are saying that you only get two months of good weather and you feel you are being robbed, other parts of the country are quite warm. Take a vacation. Or move. … [Read more...]

Dear (fill in the blank),

So I've got a few letters I feel I need to pass on to people. No, these aren't crazy emails from the loons that write me from time to time. These are ones I feel the need to write to others. Dear Nordstroms, Though I do enjoy your store (a little too much my husband and credit card may say), you might want to consider retraining your staff in tact. For when trying on flats this last week (since I am injured in the ankle AGAIN and cannot wear heals) it was not the best move by your sales associate to point to my stomach and say “oh of course, with you this far along” to my statement of “it hard to get used to flats but I need to”. Let us keep in mind I was not wearing anything baggy and he was putting the shoe on the foot that is wrapped in tape. He was however smart enough to ask if I wanted another sales associate. Um, yeah. If that was not bad enough, I then walked over to purses, only to have the belly pointed at again and a comment about me … [Read more...]

Cutting out the middle man…

One of the greatest things I learned about my husband is that camping to him was in a 4 star hotel. Score. Now don't get me wrong, I like the outdoors, heck, I was Forestry major my freshman year of college. But sleeping on the rocky ground vs. a mattress is really a no brainer. Tying my food up so that a bear does not come into camp vs. brunch with a mimosa..again no brainer. Washing yourself in a river where an elk was peeing earlier vs. a hot shower. No brainer. And speaking of peeing, this is pretty much the main reason I do not camp. Call it the only time when I have penis envy. I was not made to go to the bathroom outside. And no, an outhouse the smells ungodly with a spider in the corner just waiting to pounce on me is not a suitable option. Now, I know that many people camp and love it. I know many of those people have RV's. I would rather just spend the money on the nice hotel and drive out to see the pretty scenery during the day. I do miss one thing about camping though … [Read more...]
