I’m not sure if my mom is weird (well actually I know she is) but growing up every holiday came with the full meal but she always made appetizers as well. I am learning that most people don’t do this. I think it started because us kids would get hungry smelling the food cooking and then annoy the crap out of my mom asking when we would be eating…enter appetizers. It’s smart if you think about it…the food smells really good if you are cooking it right. :) So everyone is hungry and sometimes you aren’t moving quickly as the hungry peeps would like (my mom always tells us 20 minutes…that turns into 2 hours). It’s a tradition that has just carried over to me and so I am always on the lookout for new appetizers and dips to serve. Not around much in the food blogging world this week….crazy busy week but crazy good. Don’t worry next week I have nothing and can sit around and talk food…and make food. These are a great appetizer that is a spinoff of my Blue Cheese Cheesecake with Pear Onion Jam I made years ago. If you are saying ewww gross…I can assure you that savory cheesecake is wonderful. And when spread on crackers it’s a fun way to serve a cheese spread. And it classes things up. :D This recipe originally was for a magazine article that ran the story but never paid me. So thanks for that. It’s my fault because they stiffed me before and asked me to do another story telling me check was in the mail. Stay with Me…Please…

January is coming and that means a lot of you will flee my site. I’ve already seen a big drop off. The holidays are closing down and everyone will pledge to lose weight and get in the best shape of your life in 2013 and you can’t do that by eating pastries and goodies. You must say goodbye to carbs, go Paleo, take supplements, strap yourself to the treadmill, never eat anything you like again. Clearly that is the way to go and clearly you can’t make anything on my site and eat it and lose weight right? Guess again. The first photo is of me at my highest weight. I lost weight on Weight Watchers a few years back and then gained a lot (not all of it back) thanks to Prednisone and this year have been slowly losing what I gained back. But this time at a MUCH slower rate. I have given up nothing. Not a thing. What I have done is eat less of it.
