Karma, Karma, Karma….

Saying Karma is a very trendy thing to do. I probably hear it almost every day coming out of someone’s mouth. I find it most amusing that most of my friends who say it often are Christians. And well the concept of karma is a religious one coming to us from the Buddhist and the Hindus. And last I checked Christians only get to follow one God’s teaching? I’m not here to get into religion; I’ll leave that for Rick Perry. But I will say that I don’t really believe in Karma. I don’t really believe in the concept for the fact that #1 I am not a Buddhist or a Hindu and #2 far too many people I know that are good people have many a bad thing happen to them, and yet the people who I think in my life who could really get a good swift kick in the pants seem to continue to skate through life with things just kind of falling into place for them. Or just finding new people to take advantage of. Instead of doing things to gain good Karma for the day, why not just do something … [Read more...]

Drawing a blank…

I keep staring at the blank page and so I am just writing something down. Anything. So here you go: 1. You can’t argue with crazy because they think they are always right. 2. I’m happy Trader Joe’s carries varieties of goat’s cheeses…not just goat cheese like you know goat cheese. 3. Saw the movie The Kids Are Alright….and well. Hmmm. And I am still waiting for proof on the one incorrect guess. 5. Schweddy Balls ice cream is a real thing. It’s also hard to find. My bff went to several stores to hunt it down for me. We like it. We even bought another pint of it…only to anger a woman who was also looking for it. As we knew where it was and she didn’t and she was talking about it on the phone … [Read more...]

There was a quote on Twitter the other day, which I was an idiot and didn’t favorite and now can’t find (go me!), but it basically said that you keep a lot of friends by lying and lose a lot of friends by telling the truth. What good is that? What good is having a bunch of people in your life who won’t tell you the truth or you can’t be yourself around? I often laugh at some people’s Facebook pages because they have a ton of friends on there. That’s not the funny part. The funny part is that they have collected all these people as friends I guess to prove to people they are popular. And yet when they post something maybe three or four people respond…and most of the time it’s the same couple people over and over again. Now granted I have quite a few hockey an food blogger friends that I don’t interact with all the time but I make sure I do at some point, otherwise I drop them. I’d much rather have 20 people as friends who actually interact with me or a ton of … [Read more...]
