banana choco bread

I got a bill for $0.34 from my doctor. Then I got a second notice. Then a third. I just kept waiting for there to be a larger bill but it never came. So I got an evil final notice from them and interest making it almost a dollar. Which I then paid in all in pennies to them through the mail…five cents at a time. I’m fun when messed with. :P I am still crazy busy so this is another quickie post. These are muffins, but not really. More like cupcakes without frosting. But I like to call them muffins so that they seem more legit to eat for breakfast. :D … [Read more...]

Cloudy with a chance of dirt…

So while to some people 68F isn’t that warm it is to me, when you live in the apartment I do. PNW apartments are built to keep heat in, as most of the time we are more cool than warm, and therefore can get quite warm and a little stuffy. This makes me not want to bake so much. It doesn’t help that I live on the 3rd floor either. But just to keep me in check I like to keep on my MSN page what the weather is doing in Phoenix. I was beyond amused when this is what I saw. Since when did DUST become weather? I know they get dust, I lived there. Even better is when you get a dust storm followed by an afternoon monsoon storm so everything is caked in mud. So in honor of Phoenix I will highlight things I learned while living there: 1. The phrase “leave no stone left unturned” should be ignored. Never, ever check under a rock. You will most likely meet Mr. Scorpion or worse, his friend the vinegaroon (which think spider meets scorpion…it’s so not good). 2. It’s a dry … [Read more...]

Look what I got mom…

Just remember that when you think you have it bad, someone has it worse. Case in point, my friend J has a 17 year old daughter. Never really gets into trouble (occasionally breaks curfew by a couple minutes…but calls to say she is running late). Honor roll student. Involved in lots of school sports and activities. So imagine my friends surprise when her daughter came home with tattoos on her KNEES! And if that was not bad enough, one of the tattoos is their street address. “Great, now I have to chop off her knees when I kill her, otherwise they will know where to find me" was the response from my friend who is trying to keep her sense of humor about it so that CPS won’t be paying a visit to the home. Though in all seriousness the child might not be seeing the light of day for about a few months and an appointment to have the tattoos removed has already been made. Why would one do this you ask? The daughter has no actual answer. Which is driving my friend insane of … [Read more...]

It’s called no…say it once in a while…

When growing up things were not given to me (or my friends for that matter) how they are now. Today’s parents seem to be riddled with guilt if they can’t give their child everything they ask for. That somehow that makes them a bad parent. I somehow got sucked into watch Tyra (it really was by accident…her and her smizing drive me insane). It was about moms who steal so that their kids can get what they want or that they can afford the activities that the kids want to do. The one girl was more than okay that her mom did this for her…because she was a good kid, got good grades and therefore deserved it. I’ll tell you what she deserves…a big kick in the pants is what she deserves. And the girl was 16…get a job. Buy your own stuff. When I was in 7th grade they were offering a trip to Washington DC. My parents told me no, they couldn’t afford it. I asked if I used my money (I had some from the Jif commercial) and if I did the fundraising stuff the school offered could I … [Read more...]
