Bloggeritis….

I’m not in school. I haven’t been for a while now. For a while I was a school junkie. I went all the time. I went straight until I turned 31 and moved to WA State and the UW didn’t have the program I was in the middle of. And so I stopped. It’s funny because it didn’t seem like it at the time as it was just what I did, be the perpetual student, collecting degrees (that clearly I do so much with)but wow do I have a lot of schooling. When I had to go to jury duty and they had me fill out the form it asked how many years had a gone to school. 24. That’s a long time. That’s a long time especially to end up as a food blogger. :P Eight years of running this blog is rapidly approaching. Eight years. I don’t know if it’s because it’s been that long or because Seattle has looked like this as of late: But this girl has a giant case of senioritis except the blog version. I have bloggeritis. It’s a thing I swear. Now unlike senioritis I don’t have it because the … [Read more...]

15. It’s seems like a lifetime ago and yet just like yesterday all the same. It was a big year for me. My birthday was in the summer so I was 15 as a sophomore (most of my friends were older and getting to drive…not that I am bitter or anything). Fifteen was the year of my first real boyfriend. He was a senior. He looked like Goose from Top Gun. I’m still surprised that my parents let me date him. Though in their defense I was a really good kid. Never got in to trouble, didn’t drink or do drugs, and always had good grades…the only time slipping in Geometry to get a boy I like to tutor me (Hi B…he reads the blog). That ploy didn’t work so I went back to just getting good grades in that class. :P I have to say he was the worst kind of boyfriend to have as a first boyfriend. Why? Because he was actually a good boyfriend. We went out on fun dates like horseback riding, nice dinners, tons of movies, and skiing. He bought me flowers and stuffed animals and called me from … [Read more...]

Random Tuesday Recipe and Ramblings…

This cake was so good that there are only pictures of it sliced since we couldn't wait to eat it. My three day weekend was spent organizing and cleaning the house. We got most of it done. My office will probably never be this clean again. Picky Eater also came by and was nice enough to fire up his old computer since mine was dying. We are hoping this one will last until computers go on a good sale. I'm far too excited about this. They better do it in my lifetime or I'll be mad...or dead. Either way. The dog is very excited that hockey is back. One of the most asked questions I get are who is the couple you always take pictures of on Instagram? So first off they are not a couple. Just friends. Almost brother and sister like as they are always beating each other up and picking on each other. I took their photos first as a joke and now it's just what we do. I joke that I am going to get their photos mounted and show them in an art show. :P The other question is … [Read more...]

With Sprinkles On Top….

Now you are probably looking at this cake and thinking aww how sweet Peabody made a cake for a 6 year old girl. Nope. That cake is for a 40 year old man. :P I know it seems silly for a grown man to be getting a pink cake with sprinkles for his birthday but MDP is pretty confident in his sexuality (as am I ;) ) so he can handle it. When I was trying to figure out what to make MDP for a birthday cake (he is not a big fan of chocolate) I asked for suggestions on FB (are you following me on FB? If not, would you?) and boy did I get a lot suggestions (yay!). Other than making me hungry for cake, someone put a link to a Strawberry Milk Cheesecake that Sprinkle Bakes made. I had it pinned already but forgot about it as I often do. I knew immediately that would be the cake. After all it’s way too festive and MDP LOVES Strawberry Milk (heck I just made him bark). Problem is that Heather (Sprinkle Bakes) excels at decorating and Peabody excels at knowing people who are good at … [Read more...]
