The best non-bacon sandwich….

Happy Easter to those who celebrate it! And if you don’t celebrate it Happy Sunday. Reminder that Easter candy goes on sale tomorrow! Also a reminder that it is April Fool’s Day so watch out for those pranksters. Speaking of Easter candy...my shame candy so to speak (or the one I am ashamed to like) is Chicks and Bunnies (Brachs). Do you have one you are afraid to admit to liking?   Our favorite local watering hole (The Diamond Knot) got a remodel and opens back up next week but we got to go for a sneak peak night and see the new digs as well as try out the new menu. We are very in favor of the cheesy garlic bacon tater tots and their chicken and waffles dish! Most people will find this one silly. But Jarome Iginla got traded this last week. After Briere he is my favorite player and Jerome played for my favorite team the Flames. Iginla has played his entire career with the Flames (16 years) and I can't really think of a time when I don't remember him … [Read more...]

Not around much in the food blogging world this week….crazy busy week but crazy good. Don’t worry next week I have nothing and can sit around and talk food…and make food. These are a great appetizer that is a spinoff of my Blue Cheese Cheesecake with Pear Onion Jam I made years ago. If you are saying ewww gross…I can assure you that savory cheesecake is wonderful. And when spread on crackers it’s a fun way to serve a cheese spread. And it classes things up. :D This recipe originally was for a magazine article that ran the story but never paid me. So thanks for that. It’s my fault because they stiffed me before and asked me to do another story telling me check was in the mail. So I figure I will put the recipe up for you all to enjoy since I never got compensated!!! … [Read more...]

My hand has now seen three different people and they all now tell me the same thing…nothing they can do. That surgery will not help and I just get to deal with the fact that my hand will be numb/in pain and be thankful that it’s usually only a few hours a day and not 24/7. Well awesome. Not. It’s a sore subject right now (no pun intended). In awesome news while I was on vacation I found out that I won Sprinkle Bakes (btw do you own her cookbook yet? SprinkleBakes: Dessert Recipes to Inspire Your Inner Artist You should...it's $11 on Amazon...how can you not pull the trigger on that!) hosted a giveaway that I could really get behind. I love all things Kate Spade and this had sprinkles on it as well. Squeal. And then I won!!! Double squeal. While I love when people give away mixers and what not I don’t usually enter because I own things like that…this was unique and I love it! Now that vacation has come and gone I’ve decided I need more vacation. :) I’m trying to … [Read more...]

Noshing away…

So 2012 is coming to an end and going into 2013 I am saying goodbye to my other blog Northwest Noshings. I’m not quite sure what I was thinking when I decided “hey I need another blog”. Well I was thinking that I would do more savory on that site and leave just the baking to this site. But after 7 ½ years of blogging I started putting all sorts of recipes on here. Not a ton of people followed that blog but the people that did read it did enjoy the recipes and they still get comments years later. Because there are some quality recipes on there that I want to make sure stay out in the blog universe I will be bringing them over in the coming months. If you have never seen that site hopefully you will enjoy the recipes (many of which are Pacific Northwest inspire) and if you have seen it maybe it will remind you of a recipe you wanted to try and forgot about. :) The first recipe I am bringing over highlights much of what is awesome about the Pacific Northwest…Tillamook … [Read more...]
