Darn close to the world’s best….

Ever notice no one ever says World’s Most Mediocre Banana Bread? They should though. I have tried my fair share of World’s Best Banana Bread only to be sadly disappointed. Perhaps it’s like in Elf when he believes the sign World’s Best Cup of Coffee. Deep down I know it’s probably not going to be the best banana bread and yet I try any way. I like my mom’s banana bread as it is unique because it uses graham flour, but I would not call it the world’s best banana bread (well at least not for me…it’s good don’t get me wrong). Part of the problem is that most banana breads in my opinion don’t use enough bananas. I mean one of the main reasons I am even making banana bread is because I have a ton of bananas to use up that are mocking me on the counter. So when I recipe calls for 1 or 2 bananas I say boo on that. So I decided to try and think what is it that I love? Malted milk. Random Tuesday Recipe and Ramblings…

This cake was so good that there are only pictures of it sliced since we couldn't wait to eat it. My three day weekend was spent organizing and cleaning the house. We got most of it done. My office will probably never be this clean again. Picky Eater also came by and was nice enough to fire up his old computer since mine was dying. We are hoping this one will last until computers go on a good sale. I'm far too excited about this. They better do it in my lifetime or I'll be mad...or dead. Either way. The dog is very excited that hockey is back. One of the most asked questions I get are who is the couple you always take pictures of on Instagram? So first off they are not a couple. Just friends. Almost brother and sister like as they are always beating each other up and picking on each other. I took their photos first as a joke and now it's just what we do. Trade ins….

When MDP and I were talking marriage but not actually engaged there were quite a few people who suggested that I use my OLD wedding ring and trade that in to get my new wedding ring. Ummm. I gave them a perplexed look. Number one my ring was from Tiffany’s and while they do “trade ins” so to speak but you must spend a minimum of $10,000 to upgrade your ring (yes you are now all realizing that I had a very expensive ring before…don’t come try and rob me it’s in a safe deposit box). And number two that’s just tacky. Nothing like starting your new marriage with the bad ju-ju attached to your old ring (yes I am superstitious). I guess that’s part of why I wanted my mother’s diamond. There is a lot of good ju-ju on that diamond. A lot. I did not know I was getting my ring. I had already owned the diamond as my mother had it put in a necklace for me. MDP took it without me noticing. He chose what the ring would look like. Boo-riffic….

I once worked for a principal who had a habit of making up words. The general consensus was that she was trying to sound smarter than she was. The students mock her behind her back…and yes, even the staff did. So much so that we made Bingo cards that we would use in the staff meetings. Try not to judge too much it helped pass the time. Plus the winner got free drinks at Happy Hour on pay day Fridays. :) So when I was making this cake all I could think of was the word Boo-riffic. Which of course is not a word but it is to me. And well it’s my blog and now that I have a print button I can do whatever I want. Because print buttons give you and excuse to rule the blog world…to be the best blog!!! Anyway… I’ve made these little meringue ghosts pretty much every Halloween but this time I decided I needed to put them on top of a cake.
