Peanut Butter Chocolate Overkill…

So yeah it’s over kill. Yeah you are probably going into a diabetic coma just looking at the photos. Yes there are three peanut butter cups in that. :) So you are probably saying how on earth do you have leftover peanut butter cups? I know right? I blame my mother. For real. She taught me that if you were having a dinner party for 10 plan for them to eat as much as 50 people. Every time we went to the store we bought a bag of candy for the last month and a half. We didn’t get as many trick or treaters as we thought. Though we didn’t get our pumpkins messed with as we are a very popular house to those that did visit….because we were like here take 12, 13, whatever. :P I still have a dead wasp on my floor by my computer for weeks now. Chocolate…nuff said…

I’ve watched almost zero Olympics. I had no cable for days. In fact when I called to get my cable working the tech guy was trying to make conversation and asked if I was watching the Olympics. I said to him “think about why I am calling you” (it was for tech support because cable was scrambled) and he was like oh yeah. Then after they got it “working” the only channel that worked until a guy came out was the Olympics. So I refused to watch just out of spite. Now that I have Internet again…the unpacking has decreased dramatically. :) There is something to be said for not having your toys. When the guys moved me one of them saw my face on a jar of Spices (Taco Seasoning to be exact) from my Sam’s Club days. He was all excited and swore that I must be a Food Network Celebrity because I had my own spices. I tried to convince him that no FN Star would be living in a two bed room apartment. The Savory, mostly Sweet Life…

If you don’t know Alice’s blog Savory Sweet Life then you are very much missing out on things. Two years ago when I attended a food bloggers conference here in Seattle I finally met Alice in person. Alice is someone who to me is the real deal. Her genuine warmth shines through when you talk to her. Alice is a busy lady with three children (two of whom I have met and are beyond adorable), runs a blog (a very popular one at that), writes for PBS Parents Kitchen Explorers, and of course wrote herself a cookbook Savory Sweet Life: 100 Simply Delicious Recipes for Every Family Occasion . And yet with all her hectic-ness Alice finds time to make time for others, myself included. When I found out about her cookbok I hinted about as subtle as I could that when it did come out please send a copy my way. The secret life of buttercream…

There is a saying about people live three lives: their public life, their private life, and their secret life. I’m here to talk about adding a subclass to the public life: their Facebook/Pinterest life. I am not immune to this at all. I mean if people only followed me on Pinterest they would have expected me to show up to the conference in a Burberry trench coat and Louboutin heels. But what they got was a tennis shoe wearing gal dressed out in jeans and a hoodie…and oh yeah an Optimus Prime t-shirt (I’m more than meets the eye :P ). I’m not really talking about the surface stuff. Surely I don’t believe that people who pin the 400 square foot laundry room with miles of shelves and a sink in it are planning a redo of their home anytime soon to add that. They just WISH they had that. Who doesn’t?
