So I totally planned on writing a different post until I woke up this morning. The morning I chose to sleep in asking where my Ben and Jerry’s post was. All the other times we posted at 8pm EST so when I jumped in last minute because a reader asked if I would do anything with Coffee Heath Bar Crunch I didn't pay attention to the time switch to 8am est (5 am my time). And since I was having so much fun I thought sure. I asked if I could get in on the last day and didn’t think anything about that there might be a time change. There was. It’s how my life goes. :S So this is way late but yummy all the same! And while they look nowhere near as lovely as what I modeled them after my spiral cookie making days are definitely getting better. To see what the people who can follow directions did: See Shelly with her Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk Cookies, Kristan with her Chunky Monkey Sandwich Cookies, and Heather with her Chocolate Therapy Cake that looks out of this world. Dear makers of jeans, Why are you under the impression that I am 6’3” simply because I wear a 10/12 in jeans? Can’t I just be short and plump? Why do women who are above a size 4 have to be Amazon women? And what about the women who are size 4 and tall (other than the fact that I hate them :P)? The average woman in the USA is 5’4” tall and a size 14…yet at 5’6” my pants have what seems like an extra foot of fabric to them. Is this some conspiracy with the high heel makers of the world to force us all to wear 4-inch heels in order for our pants not to drag onto the ground? Or perhaps it’s a conspiracy with the seamstresses of the world to force us to go and get our pants hemmed. Either way it’s highly suspicious and a giant waste of material. And don’t even get me started on to how today’s plus size models start at size 6 and go to size 14. Ummm? Cindy Crawford would not have been able to be a supermodel these days. She would be considered a cow. She’s a … [Read more...]

Being a Super Mom puts psychiatrists out of business, so stop trying to be one…

Sunday is a twofold for my mother. It’s not only Mother’s Day but it is also my mother’s birthday. Every now and then the calendar aligns and that happens. Of course, it’s never all the fun having a holiday close to your birthday (I know) as people try and lump them together. Which is probably why the women in my family celebrate birthday month instead of just the day. :) I was visiting my adopt a grandma (sadly she moved a few weeks ago to VA) and I was laughing hysterical at something her roommate said. She had a shared room, and her roommate had her daughter visiting. The daughter was bitching and moaning about her two children and how exhausted she was and said to her mother “I just don’t know how did it. You made it look so easy”. The sweet old lady opened her mouth and said “That’s because it wasn’t hard. But you make it hard on yourself by doing all this extra bullsh*t that back in my day people didn’t do. You planed G’s birthday for weeks and stressed … [Read more...]

Sugar, Sugar Baby…

I don’t have much of a cookbook budget these days (for the record I used to buy about 4 a month…not including the ones sent to me) but I did a little side job so to speak (don’t worry it was legal…in most states :P )that either paid cash or in Amazon.com gift card. If you went with the card you got more for your bang. Plus that pretty much made me have to buy a cookbook. :D Since I only got to pick out one, I really had to decide which one I really, really wanted. I had been staring at Sugar Baby for a while. I am actually a baby when it comes to candy making. My mom didn’t make it growing up and I still have nightmares from sugar class…pulled sugar=no fingerprints for 13 years (well, not good ones). It’s hit or miss with me on candy. Sometime success, sometimes not. I usually stick to bark because it’s easy. But I finally decided I needed to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone. So I ordered the book. The book in general just makes me happy. It’s a … [Read more...]
