I know we have all gotten used to me posting a lot and well that’s sadly going to have to stop, at least for the month of May. I would love to say it’s because I am busy and don’t have time but the truth is I’m pretty darn broke. And to make matters worse, the last of my money was stolen out of the locker room at my hockey game Friday night. And my ads just aren’t paying right now; I am averaging less than $2 a day, which doesn’t add up when it cost about $150 a month to run the blog (the vast majority of that being the cost of food). And then there are my medical bills that apparently they want me to pay. I’ll still be updating my home farm and maybe a random post or two but don’t hold out. I leave you with these cookies. Since I am a key lime lover and I we did just have Cinco De Mayo, I thought I would do a twist on Mexican Wedding Cakes. You can still keep up with me on Twitter and Facebook, just not sure how much on here. :( Peabody Key Lime Mexican … [Read more...]
Royal Pain…
I have no idea why women (and some men for that matter) want to be a princess. This week of course was all about the Royal Wedding. I have nothing against the royal couple or their wedding, and wish them nothing but the best. Kate seems like a perfectly lovely girl and she looked very stylish and tasteful in her wedding gown this morning. But I so would not want her life…ever.I know women love the idea of getting to wear fancy dresses and buy whatever they want all while wearing millions of dollars in royal jewelry. Big deal! This doesn’t come from a place of jealousy I can assure you. I can’t be jealous of someone who is constantly under the eye of the media, and in Kate and Williams’s situation, an entire country…and even this country. I know plenty of people who woke up early to watch the wedding or recorded it to watch later. I was not one of those people. Being watched and photographed wherever you are is not my idea of fun. Always having to be polite. Gain a few … [Read more...]
Ego maniac with sprinkles…
Sorry to those of you who thought I had an actual heart attack on Thursday. I can assure you if I really did have one, at no point would I be posting a post about cookies on the blog. I mean I am dedicated to this blog and all, but that’s a bit much. So unless you see something from my webmaster saying I am down and out and had a heart attack, I am as usual, being sarcastic. Let us all remember that sarcasm is my second language…and with my bad grammar, it might just be my first language over English. :P In awesome news, I got lots of dislike mail (I’m trying not to say hate anymore) about the donate button. Since they clearly want to make it on to the blog here we go: “Peabody- You are running a food blog not curing cancer. A donate button? Come on.” “Dear Peabody, You really expect people to donate to you for baking food? People are hopefully smart enough to donate to Livestrong or the Red Cross than they are to a cookie.” “Peabody- Get over yourself. A … [Read more...]
Sugar!!!!!!

It is the ultimate sugar holiday coming up. And as a love of all things sugar, I'm highlighting...sugar! Domino sugar to be exact. While looking through their website last week I noticed Elegant Tiramisu Cookies. Otherwise known as, cookies that had mascarpone cheese in them. We all know how that I have an unnatural love for mascarpone cheese, so I was all over these! And they did not disappoint. I really love just the cookies themselves and don't think that you have to go the extra mile if you don't want and make them into sandwiches. But of course, if you do, whenever you are adding more mascarpone cheese to anything, you are by definition making it better. ;) There was a chocolate layer that I skipped (I know, clearly there is something wrong with me...oh yeah, I'm lazy) and I went with just sprinkling powdered sugar and cocoa powder on the filling instead. I am seriously considering making these be my cookies for cookie exchange this year. So yummy, and quite unique. If … [Read more...]
