Some time in my late 20’s someone wrote a book called Letters From a Nut. It was a funny book where I guy basically wrote fake letters to places just to mess with them. In the spirit of the book I decided I would do one of my own. I wrote to one of the nicer Scottsdale resorts asking if they had recovered my missing tooth. I went in to great embarrassing detail about how I had lost it during rough sex and then proceed to explain just what the tooth looked like. I sent the letter to a friend who lived out of state to send it to them so that the post mark matched the address I gave. While they of course did not find the tooth they did send me a free night’s stay at one of their hotels. I of course paid that forward to a teacher that no one really liked because I figured that the coupon was somehow marked and I just pictured the staff laughing hysterical after the couple went up to their room. Now before you think I’m totally horrible, she had a very nice time she said. She said … [Read more...]

Survived Super Bowl...I didn't even really watch the commercials. Except the David Beckham one not because of why you are thinking but because a room full of hockey playing guys were less than thrilled it was on. Vodka Gummy Bears are very dangerous. There are a lot of snacks that have dairy or peppers in them at a Super Bowl Party. I got flowers, I am loved.  :) Crazy Cocker Spaniel keeps getting dragged out on walks. She is the worst walker in the world. She walks in a zig zag and stops every 12 seconds to sniff something. And usually not a good something. I get to play hockey tonight. This is the third time I have made Key Lime Pie Cupcakes. Each time a little different. This time the no bake key lime pie filling is used in the buttercream frosting as well. To see the other two versions go here and here. Each version is good, but then again I love all things Key Lime. A twist on red velvet

So while I do get lovely email asking about my sex life, the number one question that come via email is do you have an easier way to print your recipes? And before the answer was always no. The other question is do you have a newsletter I can subscribe to? That answer remains no. I seriously have enough trouble figuring out what to put on this blog let alone come up with a newsletter, which would be called Baking from a Crappy Apartment Kitchen. :) Which is what I would like the title of my Food Network show to be. ;) But in all seriousness you will all be excited to learn that thanks to RECIpage you can now print my recipes. Well right now 22 of them. But eventually all of them once the arm is feeling better to sit at a computer and put them all in. And you can Pin them…there’s a button. You can Tweet them…there’s a button. And you can Facebook them…there’s a button. Lots of options (email, text!). But the most important being the ability to print them. If you look … [Read more...]

The rainbow connection…

Had teenagers living with me every other weekend. 2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year? No I did not keep mine. Every year I set a goal to gain 16 pounds. I stayed the same this year. Next year’s resolution is to gain 16 pounds. 3. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011? Financial stability 4. What's your biggest achievement of the year? Winning the Better Homes and Gardens Home Farm Challenge 5. What was your biggest failure? When I accidently added a ¼ cup of salt to a pie when I wasn’t paying attention. Luckily it was just for me and not others to eat. 6. Did you suffer illness or injury? My white cells thought it would be cool to eat my red cells. Fractured toe. Pinched nerve. 7. What was the best thing you bought? I think we all know that … [Read more...]
