Noshing away…

So 2012 is coming to an end and going into 2013 I am saying goodbye to my other blog Northwest Noshings. I’m not quite sure what I was thinking when I decided “hey I need another blog”. Well I was thinking that I would do more savory on that site and leave just the baking to this site. But after 7 ½ years of blogging I started putting all sorts of recipes on here. Not a ton of people followed that blog but the people that did read it did enjoy the recipes and they still get comments years later. Because there are some quality recipes on there that I want to make sure stay out in the blog universe I will be bringing them over in the coming months. Copy That Ghost Rider…

So amongst the nice well wishes this week I did get a scathing 14 paragraph (yes, 14) email about how ridiculous it is that I run my (FREE to YOU) blog and don’t have a print recipe button for all of my recipes. This is not a new complaint to me and when the site got redone I added a print recipe button. When I first started my blog 7 years ago that wasn’t an option. It’s added now and the newer recipes have it. I will when I have time (so possibly never :P ) go back and add it to the old recipes. In the time the person took to write the 14 paragraphs to me they could have Googled how to get the recipe off my site. You might have heard of it…it’s called Copy and Paste. If you haven’t heard of it…Google it and it will change your life. I promise. With sprinkles on top. But in all seriousness people…copy and paste. It will take you about 30 seconds…less if you are quicker…longer if you are my mother (love you mom). None the less it’s not THAT big of a pain. … [Read more...]

The Less Sweeter Side…

Oh so good to see the haters are back in full swing. I was starting to think I had lost my edge. I think I still have but apparently the key to riling up people is to use a microwave. Ever since I posted my fudge recipe and discussed microwave candy on my Facebook page there has been much less than love mail we will call it. Once again I was contributing to the death of Americans by suggesting that they use the microwave to make something. Let me be the first to say that I hardly ever use my microwave. It’s there. I don’t even make microwave popcorn, I do it on the stove top. But kids are here and from time to time if we are not around they like the ease of the microwave…and when I am injured so do I. I posted a picture of my Bolognese sauce on Saturday night onto Facebook and several people wanted the recipe.
