The In Crowd….

When I was younger and thinner I went into Abercrombie and tried on a pair of shorts in an 8. They were cute with bows (I’m a sucker for a bow) but they left little to the imagination for what kind of underwear I might be wearing. Not being comfortable having shorts at my underwear line I thought maybe if I size up they will sit lower on the hip. I asked the sales girl if they had that in a size 10 and I got this reply “oh we don't carry that item in a size 10...could you imagine how bad that would look. We don't cater to the obese. Besides those fit you fine". I promptly left. Recently the CEO of Abercrombie has come under fire for his comments: With such comments you would think that I would boycott Abercrombie. Nope just the opposite. Oh I’m not going to give them any more business but I do own some Abercrombie stuff. I own a few size 10 jeans that I can squeeze into. And I own quite a few men’s sweatshirts (the women’s are too tiny) that I wear to score keep in … [Read more...]

I’m really starting to embrace the idea of cocktails on my blog…it certainly has made afternoon laundry time far more fun! Oh who am I kidding…I’m not doing laundry but I was thinking about doing it (and it’s the thought that counts…right up to the point where you don’t have clean underwear). :P While some people are getting slammed with snow as of late we have been on a warming trend and the yellow ball called the sun has actually been visiting the Seattle area (perhaps it’s on vacation). If the sun is out I either want ice tea or limeade (I like lemonade too but I really like limeade). And since it’s tax time…I want my limeade to be spiked. :) Key lime is one of my favorite flavors in life so I figured I would make a key lime-limeade this time around. Other than the not so awesome task of juice little tiny limes it was the way to go. I love the extra little kick of tart that it adds. And when you add the Key Lime Pie Vodka (yes it’s a real thing…and … [Read more...]

First off it’s National Margarita Day! Second off to the 41 people who sent me hate mail yesterday you need this drink more than me. Sorry to those that I spoiled PART ONE of the finales to Top Chef Seattle. Bravo pays me to discuss the show. I have to do it in a certain amount of time. I’m sorry you didn’t get to watch it on your DVR yet (remember to good old days when you missed a show and just missed it). I found out about who was out before I watched it on FB. Oh well. I didn’t go off on the person. I still watched the episode to see WHY people were in or out. But I certainly did enjoy “I hope something really important in your life gets fucked up” and “thanks for ruining my weekend” or how about “ hey dumb bitch, next time put spoiler on your site”. So I’m just going to go there and say its reality TV and if you are that attached to it then you might want to rethink your priorities in life. I wrote it late at night after I stayed up to watch the show. I … [Read more...]

Survived Super Bowl...I didn't even really watch the commercials. Except the David Beckham one not because of why you are thinking but because a room full of hockey playing guys were less than thrilled it was on. Vodka Gummy Bears are very dangerous. There are a lot of snacks that have dairy or peppers in them at a Super Bowl Party. I got flowers, I am loved.  :) Crazy Cocker Spaniel keeps getting dragged out on walks. She is the worst walker in the world. She walks in a zig zag and stops every 12 seconds to sniff something. And usually not a good something. I get to play hockey tonight. This is the third time I have made Key Lime Pie Cupcakes. Each time a little different. This time the no bake key lime pie filling is used in the buttercream frosting as well. To see the other two versions go here and here. Each version is good, but then again I love all things Key Lime. Key Lime Pie Cupcake Version 3.0 2 ¼ cups cake flour 1 TBSP baking powder ½ tsp … [Read more...]
