We all know that I love Pinterest. I still to this day thank/curse Kristen(Dine and Dish)for introducing it to me. While it might be a time suck it is a constant source of inspiration of all things not just baking/cooking. I almost (and I use that term loosely) want to clean and organize after I am on Pinterest…almost. :P I also love it of course because it brings people to my site and I always love gaining new readers! One thing I am always interested in on Pinterest is what things do I bake/make are popular on Pinterest and it usually surprises me…big time. One thing were these muffins. Now these are not like a Way Back Wednesday, these are like a redo Tuesday. :) So many people had been pinning them that I decided to remake them…as these bad boys were originally posted six years ago…yep...SIX! They say that they average blog reader only stays with a blog about a year and a half. I know that I have some long time readers but I have to remember that the majority of you are … [Read more...]

My Harry and David trip and what I did with all my pears…

When I was engaged I got a Tiffany diamond. I’m not saying that to brag or anything like that. We looked other places before going to Tiffany’s and right away we knew this was where we were going to get my ring. Not only for the diamond but for the above and beyond service we received. That I still get to this day from them. When I was younger each year for Christmas my aunt would send us a Harry and David Fruit of the Month basket. Throughout the year we would get sent a different fruit each month, and I would always look forward to it. One time when our oranges came and one of them got a little smashed in the shipping. My mom called to let them know. Not to ask for new ones, but to let them know that was happening. Within a few days, there were new oranges on our doorstep. If you have ever done business with Harry and David you know this is how they are. They are also about service. So when I got an email asking me if I wanted to come down to Medford, Oregon and see the … [Read more...]

I got a bill for $0.34 from my doctor. Then I got a second notice. Then a third. I just kept waiting for there to be a larger bill but it never came. So I got an evil final notice from them and interest making it almost a dollar. Which I then paid in all in pennies to them through the mail…five cents at a time. I’m fun when messed with. :P I am still crazy busy so this is another quickie post. These are muffins, but not really. More like cupcakes without frosting. But I like to call them muffins so that they seem more legit to eat for breakfast. :D … [Read more...]

The worlds biggest time suck…

Just when I thought there couldn’t possibly be another time suck, enter Pinterest. You probably thought I was going to say Google Plus but I just don’t see the point of that yet. Anyway, if you don’t know this site, don’t go. It will suck you in like quicksand. Lucky for me they have an app and I can waste my time at the doctor’s office. It’s filled with photos of things you will never own, places you will never go to, phrases far wittier than you could ever come up with, clothing you could never afford, half naked photos of Ryan Reynolds (which is nice) and Adam Levine (also nice), cakes I will never get around to making, and all around interesting finds. While having my time sucked away, I ran across an inside out carrot cake muffin where the cream cheese frosting was on the inside! Brilliant and way more portable for lunches and what not. Not wanting to copy it completely I decided that I needed to embrace the concept but change it. What cake do I love most with cream … [Read more...]
