Now that’s a Peanut Butter Cup…

This fun cake comes from October 2007! Some days it’s hard for me to believe that I had a blog that long ago or should I say still have a blog. I go through phases where I wonder if should keep doing it. And I always come back to continuing the blog. Definitely been having writers block, and combine that with the fact that people only comment nowadays on controversially posts only makes it hard to want to keep on putting effort in. No worries though, whenever I think I am going to stop I keep going. I’m sure I will keep going just like I always do. I won’t even threaten to take time off as every time I say that I rush out and do a bunch of posts. :) The cake is an adaptation of this peanut butter chocolate chip cake I made a year or so ago, the difference being the use of the peanut butter chips. The other difference is the use of my mini(4-inch diameter) tart pans. I used those to give the cake a more peanut butter cup look. If you get too much rise on your cake you can … [Read more...]

Oh, the weather outside is…

Weather seems to be the only universal thing people can talk about and if you live in the Seattle area it’s pretty much the only thing people talk about. Most of this spring my FB feed has been filled with “where’s my spring?” It’s right here; it’s just not how you would like it. :) When the sun comes out FB is filled with “finally spring is here, it’s about time”. Again, spring has been here. It’s the go to conversation for the grocery checker, who I always confuse. “Enjoy this gloomy day” I was told last week sarcastically after a slew of sunny days. To which I replied “I will, I love days like this, it’s why I moved to the Seattle area”. Then I usually get looked at like a freak. Which I am. Don’t get me wrong, as long as there is no heat along with the sun, I say bring it. But it rarely does that. Gray days are made for cuddling with the one you love under a blanket. Sipping tea and reading books. I play an indoor sport so I could care less about … [Read more...]

Royal Pain…

I have no idea why women (and some men for that matter) want to be a princess. This week of course was all about the Royal Wedding. I have nothing against the royal couple or their wedding, and wish them nothing but the best. Kate seems like a perfectly lovely girl and she looked very stylish and tasteful in her wedding gown this morning. But I so would not want her life…ever.I know women love the idea of getting to wear fancy dresses and buy whatever they want all while wearing millions of dollars in royal jewelry. Big deal! This doesn’t come from a place of jealousy I can assure you. I can’t be jealous of someone who is constantly under the eye of the media, and in Kate and Williams’s situation, an entire country…and even this country. I know plenty of people who woke up early to watch the wedding or recorded it to watch later. I was not one of those people. Being watched and photographed wherever you are is not my idea of fun. Always having to be polite. Gain a few … [Read more...]

Iron Madien…

So I know that many of you are excited that I have made something every day this week. Well, don’t get used to it. :P Number one I have subs jobs next week, the 5th grade class that always has me, needs me back. Number two I was stuck at the apartment all week because my body felt the need to not have any red cells. At first they just dipped a little low, but then they went crazy low. Crazy low. And of course, no one knows why, just a whole lot of guessing going on. Ah, “practicing” medicine at its finest. They thought maybe I was internally bleeding, and with as graceful as I am who knows. :) So I got CT scanned and ultrasounded and all the probes that one can be probed with. I’ve been the ultimate human pin cushion this week as well. Special. Oh, and number 3…I will eventually run out of things to ramble on about…but then again, with the way people act, maybe I won’t. :P And what’s worse is that none of them seem to appreciate my humor. When the doctor told me that … [Read more...]
