Thank goodness for other bloggers….

I’m sure it comes as no shock to people that after running a blog for almost 8 years you often run out of ideas. So I am so thankful for other bloggers and for the invention of Pinterest. Now I usually try and put my own spin on it…and that’s how these bars came about. Heather over at Sprinkles Bakes (have you bought her book yet…you should) made a killer looking concoction that she was calling and Overloaded Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake and it looked fantastic. But I was going to hockey and needed something portable to take to my hockey team and cake doesn’t not travel well. So my mind got to thinking and I came up with these bars: One layer of Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie, Covered with a layer of homemade Malted Peanut Butter Cup Filling, Topped with Mini Marshmallows, and then topped with a Chocolate Peanut Butter Topping. Happy Friday all...just a quick post (with recipe!) to tell you that the random chosen winner of the Harry and David Gift Basket was Stephanie who wrote: "I’m going to have to go with probably the most common answer – Cadbury creme eggs. Oh and Reese’s eggs." She has already been notified and I give a heartfelt congrats to her. If you didn't win you never know what will be given away next on here so you could always have a chance. :) This isn't a peanut butter cup recipe but it does have peanut butter in it and it's a great throw together weeknight meal. Here's the Tuesday Ten: 1. For the last month I have made my bed every day. I know people do this every day. I do not. I usually just throw the covers kind of over the pillows. But I have been doing the full bed…with pillow shams and all. Sadly this makes me feel more like a grown up. It’s not hard to do and yet I never used to do it. :) Small steps. 2. I made this mistake of asking a brand if they would like to work with me. They wrote back "You are not a significant enough food blogger"…I’m considering getting that on my tombstone right under owner of a not best blog. But seriously a no thank you probably would have been the better result. I am just going to assume that the person who wrote it did so while on the phone with the IRS and on hold for 2 hours, on a bad hair day, while possibly being mauled by a Honey Badger and therefore was not in a good mood. 3. I have had the WORST case of insomnia as of late. As in not being able to fall asleep until 5-6am and then only getting a few hours of sleep, then spend the day being totally useless (more so than usual :P )yet the very next night the same thing…no sleep. The silver lining in all of that if you will is that I’ve gotten to catch up on a lot of blogs I just never have the time to read anymore. And while I didn’t really leave too many comments (typing and the hand don’t play well together) one thing I saw on a blog made me feel the need to leave a comment…a GIANT one…right here. Jenna is a blogger whom I don’t know personally but have always read her blog. She is wildly popular having her own book White Jacket Required: A Culinary Coming-of-Age Story and contributes to PBS Food. I follow her on Instagram and Twitter but she probably doesn’t know me from a hole in the wall (or in my sweats as my case may be).
