Peanut Butter Chocolate Overkill…

pbcuppotsdecreme2

So yeah it’s over kill. Yeah you are probably going into a diabetic coma just looking at the photos. Yes there are three peanut butter cups in that. :) So you are probably saying how on earth do you have leftover peanut butter cups? I know right? I blame my mother. For real. She taught me that if you were having a dinner party for 10 plan for them to eat as much as 50 people. Every time we went to the store we bought a bag of candy for the last month and a half. We didn’t get as many trick or treaters as we thought. Though we didn’t get our pumpkins messed with as we are a very popular house to those that did visit….because we were like here take 12, 13, whatever. :P I still have a dead wasp on my floor by my computer for weeks now. I refuse to pick it up. Know why? Two words: Zombie Wasps. They are real. I know he is just waiting patiently on me to give in pick him up and then he will have me. I have had a couple people get mad at me for still posting on my blog when … [Read more...]

Happy trees…

Growing up I loved watching Bob Ross on PBS…even as a teenager (did you know he was on for 31 seasons! That’s a lot of happy trees). So much so that I convinced my dad to get to use his oil paints (he used to paint). It’s not that I really every think I wanted to paint. I think it was that Bob Ross and his happy trees was just so darn happy that I thought maybe if I painted myself something in sky blue and Van Dyke brown my happiness would come too. It was probably just the paint fumes. :P Anyway I painted a variety of things…all landscape of course and I made what Bob Ross would call happy accidents a lot (as he would say “we don't make mistakes, we just have happy accidents”). My first ones were mostly blobs but my father hung them proudly and my mother followed along and hid them in the dark corners of the house. :) I wasn’t just randomly thinking of Bob Ross…yesterday he was on the Google page and several people “thought of me” when they saw it and asked … [Read more...]

Boo-riffic….

ghostpeanutbuttercupchocolatechipcake3

I once worked for a principal who had a habit of making up words. The general consensus was that she was trying to sound smarter than she was. The students mock her behind her back…and yes, even the staff did. So much so that we made Bingo cards that we would use in the staff meetings. Try not to judge too much it helped pass the time. Plus the winner got free drinks at Happy Hour on pay day Fridays. :) So when I was making this cake all I could think of was the word Boo-riffic. Which of course is not a word but it is to me. And well it’s my blog and now that I have a print button I can do whatever I want. Because print buttons give you and excuse to rule the blog world…to be the best blog!!! Anyway… I’ve made these little meringue ghosts pretty much every Halloween but this time I decided I needed to put them on top of a cake. Staring at my bag of peanut butter cups I decided that I needed to make a buttercream frosting out of them. And this cake was born. The ghost come … [Read more...]

In with the new….

PBSmoresbar1

In case you haven't noticed I am sporting some new digs. There are a lot of new changes ahead for me in the coming months but this is the first one. I figured since I was going into my 7th year of blogging and my 40th year of life that I should probably change things up on the blog. Do a little less is more. Plus apparently those cute little picture squares I had were quite the coding nightmare for updates. Opps. Who knew. My awesome redesign or as I call it an make-under was done by a CCbP reader and blogger who I found out did this for a living. Everyone give a shout out to Pass the Sushi for new look! And of course thanks to the Picky Eater for having to coordinate all the back end stuff with her so that they could go live with the site. To honor the launch of the site I figured go with something simple yet incredibly yummy...and according to MDP very, very messy. There may or may not be random pieces of marshmallow fluff still being found. I call it a scavenger hunt for the … [Read more...]
