Reality called…they want you to come back…

Someone I know, I can’t say friend anymore (even though I was at her wedding, baby shower, baby birthdays, etc.) has adopted a new policy in life. I’m pretty sure she has been pay a little too much attention to the inspirational sayings on Pinterest, especially the one that reads “Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher”. Except like many, she misinterprets this. This phrase doesn’t mean I will sit around and blow smoke up your ass…it means surround yourself with people who will make you a better person. Sometimes that’s telling you like it is. Surrounding yourself with people who will never tell you that you are being a jack ass or screwing up royally means that you will never grow as a person…and a lot of people will think you are a jackass. :P For the record she has basically unfriended every person she knows because everyone she knows has told her that the choices she is making (and changing every other day…not kidding) are not good … [Read more...]

Welcome April…

banana fosters pound cake

Hello April! You arrived so very quickly. Things I learned in March: *I have amazing and generous friends who were there for me when I needed it so very badly this last month. And what is best about them is they all do it from their heart with no expectation of things in return. But as I was told by quite a few of them that is how I treat them so they learned from me. Which made me swell up a little…okay, a lot. *I learned a new way to call someone fat. I was lucky enough to learn that I certainly “don’t go without” when it comes to food. Yep. I like me some food. I also played and hour and 15 minutes of hockey on Friday night and two hours on Saturday night (my knee hates me for this). I’m also not insecure enough to imply that someone is fat because I am fine with who I am. *Speaking of fattening, MDP and I have an unnatural love of the Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza from Papa Murphy’s…mostly because of the ketchup/mustard sauce they use instead of pizza sauce and … [Read more...]

Be careful what you wish for…

Today instead of honoring Veteran’s (or Remembrance) Day, most people were preoccupied with what they were going to wish for at 11-11-11-11:11. Ah, the priorities of people. Nonetheless you could have easily honored Veteran’s as well as wished yourself a little wish at 11:11am this morning, so let’s hope people went that route. It makes me wonder what people wished for. My dog probably wished for bacon or pizza crust. Tons of teenagers (or grown 40-something women) probably wish that Twilight was real and that Edward married them. You might laugh at that but you would be surprised at the volume of email I receive because I live in Washington State asking me to get people authentic Twilight stuff from Forks, WA. FYI- I live four hours from there…stop asking. Some people were probably wishing for something good to happen to them. Some people probably wishing for something bad to happen to someone else. Some people were wishing for the winning lottery numbers. Some people are … [Read more...]

Donger need food… Way back Wednesday…

This was not only a good cake but a good post so we will revisit both. Sixteen Candles is one of the best movies ever. Oh the movie that gave every teenage girl hope. Hope that the hottest guy in school would leave his well endowed, hot girlfriend for geeky, no body you. Did I mention he is not only hot, but rich and drives a Porsche? Oh yes, this was the modern day Cinderella story that every female teeny bop was waiting to happen. Unless of course, you were the well endowed, hot chic at school...then it was already happening to you (bitch). That being said, I would never give my undies to a geek. Or anyone for that matter. Now perhaps back then, when my undies were bought by my mother and were ugly (probably the 20 pack from Costco) I might not have cared as much. But gosh darn it, now a days, good looking undies just cost too much to be giving away. Or ripped off for that matter. Granted this did not happen in Sixteen Candles, but it happens in a lot of movies. Sure it isn't … [Read more...]
