The perfect cookie (for me)…

pumpkingingerbreadsnickerdoodle2

Hopefully you had a wonderful Thanksgiving or if you live in another country a nice Thursday. :) But now the serious baking starts up. And many of you will be heading off into the world of cookie exchange. I get asked A LOT this time of year what cookies I suggest for cookie exchange. So much so I made a Pinterest board dedicated to it. Check it out. But if you are looking for a cookie to take and you are a spice cookie lover like me….then you won’t need to check out that board… I have found the cookie for you. Half pumpkin snickerdoodle which is yummy in its own right and half soft gingersnap…to say that this made my mouth happy is an understatement. My pants weren’t that happy as I ate half the batch in one sitting. Snickerdoodles are my favorite I couldn’t help it. :P The smell they produce when baking will make you dance around like when you find a $20 bill in your coat pocket that you didn’t know was there! … [Read more...]

Spice things up…

Dear makers of jeans, Why are you under the impression that I am 6’3” simply because I wear a 10/12 in jeans? Can’t I just be short and plump? Why do women who are above a size 4 have to be Amazon women? And what about the women who are size 4 and tall (other than the fact that I hate them :P)? The average woman in the USA is 5’4” tall and a size 14…yet at 5’6” my pants have what seems like an extra foot of fabric to them. Is this some conspiracy with the high heel makers of the world to force us all to wear 4-inch heels in order for our pants not to drag onto the ground? Or perhaps it’s a conspiracy with the seamstresses of the world to force us to go and get our pants hemmed. Either way it’s highly suspicious and a giant waste of material. And don’t even get me started on to how today’s plus size models start at size 6 and go to size 14. Ummm? Cindy Crawford would not have been able to be a supermodel these days. She would be considered a cow. She’s a … [Read more...]

I’m voting for cornbread….

It’s Election night. Hopefully if you live in the US you exercised your right to vote. I basically voted in a manner that is the complete opposite of my parents. :) I’m sure they are wondering where they went wrong. These muffins were made to go alongside some Chorizo Chili (yes you will be getting that recipe later this week) and they complement the chili nicely. Or so I am told. Since technically I am allergic to the chili and the muffins. Sigh. And while some food allergies I fudge on a little (cow dairy) peppers are not one that I can mess around with. Well I can I just have to stab myself with an epi pen as my throat closes shut. I would like to say that all of you out there threatening to move to Canada if you don’t like the election results don’t do it. We don’t want you. Stay where you are. Work on making the world and country a better place…not fleeing from it.   … [Read more...]

Judge away…

I talked about Dog Shaming in this post and have often wondered if people had to walk around with a sign saying what wrong they had done if less people would do the stupid and hurtful things they do? For some I would assume yes, others sadly it probably wouldn’t deter them in the least. While I am of course a HUGE Pinterest fan… other than the political b.s. that creeps in there as of late then number one thing on Pinterest I hate is this quote: “Go ahead. Judge me. Just remember to be perfect the rest of your life.” And I’ll tell you why I hate it…because the people that post it that I know in real life are the idiots who are being judged. Usually for pretty good reasons. But I don’t call that judging…I call that moron detection. So no worries…I’m not judging a single person. But I will say that my moron detector does go off a lot around certain people. And one does not need to be perfect just because someone else sucks as being a person. I don’t have to … [Read more...]
