Why are some people so awesome and other people bring suck ass to a new level? Seriously I just don’t get it. And what is even sadder is that it seems that the nice people always end up being trampled by the sucky people. Sometimes I really believe no good deed goes unpunished. :( One of the nice people of the world, my mom, is down and out for a little bit as she recovers from her hernia surgery she had on Monday. It got me thinking about her and her favorite thing from my blog. My mom is who I get my love of all things snickerdoodles from. She loves and makes often my snickerdoodle blondies from back in 2009. So I thought I would remake them with a twist. We had a very fall day around here, I’m not sure we got out of the 50’s and we had lots of rain. It screamed bake something and so I did. “Peabody you are a naive idiot. I’m a stay at home mom and not only do I not have enough money to have a gym membership, I don’t have enough money for daycare. So yes there are some woman that choose to leave their children while they go work out but not all mothers have that luxury. Watch what you say or STFU.” That’s the joy of running your own blog, I don’t have to shut the f*ck up nor watch what I say. For the record, I have more stay at home mom friends than I do working mom friends. My mother was a stay at home mom. Once I was school age she went to work part time but didn’t go to work until after I left for school and was back by the time I was home from school. Though my mother will tell you that she thinks people (mostly women, there are stay at home dad’s) make it much harder on themselves than it needs to be. Way Back Wednesday…welcome Fall, it’s about time
I have a friend who is historically 20 minutes late to everything. I will be at the movie theater at the time we were supposed to meet and I will get a text, just leaving now see you in a few. A few? You live like 30 minutes away. And of course I get the “it’s a perfect excuse to get dinner before the movie” line when we are too late to see the movie at the time we were supposed to. But what makes her even a little more on the annoying side is that while she is late to almost everything, if you are late in the slightest she points it out. “I’m pretty sure we said 8, not 8:05”. Yes I usually want to smack her. And speaking of late… While on the calendar it is not officially fall, when I turn the calendar over and see the word September, I best be getting some fall like weather. And I didn’t. You want answers…
Coming fresh off a great birthday! I spent the day playing in a mini one day hockey tournament which was more than a perfect way to spend my birthday. Thought that I would answer some of the random questions that people asked so here we go: Apron or no apron when baking? I try to remember to wear them I mostly seem to remember to wear one right around the time powdered sugar comes out of the mixer and lands all over me, and the counter, and the floor, and the dog. :) When I do wear an apron I usually wear the cute pea pod one that Cookie Baker Lynn made for me. I have almost worn that one out. :( Do you know how to make good hamburger buns? Do I need to convince my family that they must delete the expectation of store bought from their brains before trying any of my attempts? LOL I do have a great recipe, go here.
