Wish I could say I am the picture of health, but I cannot. Tomorrow night starts the first night of the summer hockey season and I don’t get to play unless I wake up and feel fantastic. But considering the fact that the smell of food still makes me queasy, I am guessing no. I can’t actually drive myself anywhere which is not awesome. In fact I am going to score keep tonight (chill…you just sit there) and my goalie has to drive me there and my defensive partner is going to drive me home. So I made treats to represent my hockey family. I must admit these little treats came with the help of my friend T. He and I work out together when I am not exploding parts of my body. When he asked if there was anything he could come over and do, I asked him to come make rice Krispie treats and frosting. He of course thought I was insane, which I probably am. He came over and did it anyway. Following my recipes and I barked orders from the couch, well not barked. He’s a smart guy he can … [Read more...]
Air…it’s what’s for dinner…
So I was supposed to have a little medical thing done this week and the idea of cooking after that sounded no fun at all. So as usual, what is more fun than Funfetti? I had seen cake batter Krispie Treats over on my blog crush and figured if any time ever I deserved then was now. :) I had been putting make them off for a very good reason, like Lay’s potato chips, I can’t eat just one. Or four for that matter. Krispie Treats are my kryptonite for sure. It’s because they are a negative food. You know how nutritionist tell you some foods have a negative calorie effect, that by the time your body process them that you burned more calories than you ate? For the record I think that is a load of crap and just an evil way to try and make you eat certain foods. :P I think Rice Krispie Treats are like that for me. Except the negative effect that they have on me is that after eating 8 of them, it’s feels like I ate none of them. And so I want to eat more. They are like eating … [Read more...]
Love Shack Baby…
So I just wanted to show everyone that I stayed true to my word and made my gingerbread house. I originally wanted to make a Groundhog Day one, but there isn’t a lot of ground hog day candy out there…except to make the ground hog out of. So I went with Valentine’s theme. And even though I am not a big fan of Valentine’s Day (it’s so not fair to men), I do love Valentine Day décor. I think it’s all the pink. I love me some pink. I must say that it was just as fun, if not more fun to decorate the gingerbread house this time of year. No pressure to get it done. I just sat there watching cheesy romantic 80’s movies and making myself sick on conversation hearts. BTW, when did “email me” become a romantic saying? The theme of my Love Shack was Love Yourself. No, not in the “no mom, don’t come in my bedroom” 14 year old boy love yourself kind of moment. But in the Whitney Houston greatest love of all loving yourself kind of way. I don’t actually remember the day … [Read more...]
