So not only do you get an over the top recipe today I am doing something I rarely do…a giveaway. A pretty yummy one at that. As anyone who follows this blog knows I don’t do these very often as I have to believe in the company or product. So when Harry and David offered up a gift basket to give away to a reader I jumped at the chance! I love them and their products!!! The hard part was picking which basket…you see what ever basket I picked for myself was the basket I get to give away. I looked and looked. And while I do love their pears this is the holiday season and I am a sucker for any and all things peppermint. I HAD to go with the Peppermint Glacier Tin Gift Basket. What comes in that? I’ve gotten a slew of emails as of late as people seem to be under the impression that my life is exciting. I can assure you it is not. :) But I figured I would go ahead and answer the most asked questions. #1: What does MDP do for a living? He is an electrician…very good with his hands ;) (bad I know but come on…had to go there). #2: How’s the foot? The foot is pretty good though for the first time in forever (ironically the day I was “cleared” to play hockey…yes I have been playing for 5 weeks already) it started hurting. But other than that it’s been pretty good. #3: What do you want for Christmas? I really don’t know actually. I am in love with this idea but it’s highly impractical for a stuffed animal. I wouldn’t mind Sorrel Joan of Artic Boots in gray even though I already own a pair of Sorrels. In with the new….

In case you haven't noticed I am sporting some new digs. There are a lot of new changes ahead for me in the coming months but this is the first one. I figured since I was going into my 7th year of blogging and my 40th year of life that I should probably change things up on the blog. Do a little less is more. Plus apparently those cute little picture squares I had were quite the coding nightmare for updates. Opps. Who knew. My awesome redesign or as I call it an make-under was done by a CCbP reader and blogger who I found out did this for a living. Everyone give a shout out to Pass the Sushi for new look! And of course thanks to the Picky Eater for having to coordinate all the back end stuff with her so that they could go live with the site. To honor the launch of the site I figured go with something simple yet incredibly yummy...and according to MDP very, very messy. S’mores random stuff…

First off Groundhog Day is tomorrow! I’m hoping for 6 more weeks of Winter…with snow. :) It’s February…ahhhhh. Slow down time, slow down. Crazy Cocker Spaniel gained four pounds in 2 months. She is on a diet. She is very, very pissed off about that. It leads her to eat any and all things she finds on the floor. Mmmm lint, the breakfast of champions. I should not drink a Red Bull at midnight and expect not to be wide awake at 4am. I went to an old stomping ground for one of my favorite treats…deep fried tater tots. They still had those but changed the whole menu (not for the better) and now served the tots with this very gross Organic Ketchup. No, no, no. Deep fried food deserves high fructose corn syrup! Highly upsetting and apparently if I ever go back I must bring my own condiments now. I won $8 in the lottery. My time is coming I feel it.
