I’m doing something unlike me. I’m going to host my own telethon, ala PBS style. Well I won’t host, let’s have Crazy Cocker Spaniel host…her eyes are far more convincing. See…those eyes are hard to resist. I figure I will do this once a year. For some people this is a good time of year and you get some money back for the good old IRS, or sadly some of you like me owe the old IRS. My ad agency seems to think I can live off of $45, they are wrong. FYI, that’s for the month, not a day or week or anything. A month. And while as a general rule I love writing this blog, after the divorce it’s supposed to be a source of income and not to toot my own horn but I think I do more than $45 worth of work a month. So if you can spare a dollar, literally a dollar, I would greatly appreciate it (the donate button is on the right hand side there where it says Donate). Cakespy Tour and Pop Tart Ice Cream Sandwiches…

So most of you know my buddy Jessie from Cakespy, but you might not know she came out with a whimsical and fun cookbook as well! It’s just quirky and magical, just like her. I was asked to join her Tour de Sweet and jumped at the chance! Jessie and I think a lot alike and without every discussing what the other one is making we literally will have often made almost the same thing…great minds. :) Minus the fact that she can also draw and well…I make some really lovely blobs and squiggles that I call drawings. Just like most artist, my art won’t be appreciated until I’m dead, or so I keep telling myself. If you love Jessie you will love her book. Are you going to eat that…

I think next to former smokers the most annoying people are people who just lost weight and love to try and tell you how to eat. I personally don’t smoke, I’ve never smoked a day in my life, but I’m not going to annoy someone by telling them how bad it is. Guess what, they know. It’s pretty hard not to these days. What is hard to figure out nowadays is what to eat. First it was no fat. Then fat is okay. Then only certain fats. Don't eat eggs. Okay eat eggs. Only eat the white part of the egg. Oh wait you can eat all the egg again. Then eat only meat. Don’t eat too much fruit. No white food. No potatoes. And on and on. It changes often. If I followed the guidelines I should technically already be dead based on my bacon consumption. I loathe going out to eat with my friends who are on a health kick. Rolling with it….

After my wedding was over and my vendors sent out their thank you notes for hiring them and a congrats for getting married kind of thing, I noticed a pattern in those notes. It was thanks for being one of the easiest going brides I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I was/am low key, I gave people ideas and in my opinion they did better than what I would have come up with so I would tell them great. And they would panic and say are you sure and I would be like yep looks great. In fact for my florist who as a friend just starting out gave total control to. I told her how much I had to spend and the colors of the wedding. Since I agreed to allow her to do whatever she gave them to me at cost. The only thing I wanted was pink peonies for my bouquet which was the most costly thing due to being out of season. Because I trusted her to do what she needed to do, she put together lush and gorgeous floral arrangements that truthfully would have cost thousands of dollars if it were … [Read more...]
