Top 5

Melissa from the Traveler’s Lunchbox came up with the idea to make a list of things to eat before you die. Each blogger that was tagged is suppose to come up with 5 items. Thanks to Natalia over at From Our Kitchen for tagging me to participate.

What an incredibly hard thing to do to narrow down 5 things. I will try to just go from my gut and not over analyze as I tend to do. I’m sure after I post this I will immediately want to change my answers, but I wont.

1. A nine course meal with wine pairing from the Herb Farm outside of Seattle, WA. The Herb Farm is an amazing restaurant that changes it’s menu to showcase whatever is in season at the time often not finalizing the menu until a couple hours before they serve it. There herb knowledge is extensive and you get a lesson about herbs through out your 4-5 hour meal. They also feature wines only from the local region.

2. My croissant bread pudding(it will show up on the blog sometime this winter). Baked in a water bath, it is extra creamy and the croissants add even more comfort to my ultimate comfort food. Topped with a toffee sauce similar to what you might find on sticky toffee pudding.

3. My grandmother’s sweet pickles. I will someday convince my uncle to show me how to make them. He is the last of the clan to know how to and I would hate for the recipe never to be carried on.

4. Lobster bisque. There is an excellent one at Eddie V’s in Scottsdale, AZ.

5. Pulled pork BBQ sandwich with coleslaw on the bun. It wasn’t until I was 25 years old that I ever experienced a pulled pork BBQ sandwich that had coleslaw as part of the sandwich. I found it to be really odd, until I tasted it, and now it is the only way I will eat them.

I am suppose to tag 5 more bloggers but almost every one I read has already done this, so if I repeat you, sorry.

  1. I can NOT wait for your post about the croissant bread pudding!! Seriously.. Can. Not. Wait.

  2. It’s called Memphis Style when you put the coleslaw on the BBQ Sandwich… SO good that way!

  3. I want to try some of that croissant bread pudding! I’ve never had croissants in that form before, but I have had them as french toast, which is amazing. I can’t wait to see more!
