Challenge accepted…

Hope you all had a nice Labor Day weekend. For many of you it’s back to school week, it is at least for this area (some of you have been back for weeks). We had a pretty chill weekend mostly doing stuff around the house and running errands. MDP did a little cooking (yep there will be recipes) but for now this teaser.

And I did a little cooking/baking (yep there will be recipes).

But other than that we just hung with the pup and bunnies catching up on Parks and Rec (MDP wants to be Ron Swanson for Halloween).

If you are doing the challenge with me (BTW follow me on Instagram to see what I’m doing) you should have got your email telling you what you are supposed to do this week (notice I bought some mums…I wanted to autumn up the outside and this was a perfect way to do so and follow challenge day 1).

Some I’m sure you are saying no problem. Some you are thinking not going to happen I don’t have time. Feel free to switch one of the days…like I’m going hiking on Friday because i have plans on Saturday. Some of you are thinking drink avocado?

I’m here for you on the avocado thing. I personally tried that version that she has and nearly gagged, which shocked me because I love avocado. Apparently I do not like them in smoothies at all. So I thought that I would tell you an alternative that I make on an almost daily basis.

Anyway it’s not too late to join the challenge if you want, just go here. Oh and that top picture? A reader sent it to me…isn’t is awesome!?!

  1. I bought my flowers this morning on my way to work and have them sitting where I can enjoy them all week!

I don’t think I can do the avocado version either – so thanks for the alternate recipe.

  2. Can’t wait for the recipes! And thanks for the alternative green smoothie recipe….wasn’t so sure about hers.
I’m excited about buying flowers for myself today :)

  3. I’ve never been able to drink a green smoothie and, oh, have I ever tried. I love avocado, though, and I’ve made avocado ice cream and avocado pound cake before. I’m sure those are just as healthy. :P

  4. My daily green smoothie recipe is a variation on Diana Stobo’s. It scares the heck out of my coworkers but everyone who’s tried it says incredulously, “hey, this is actually good!”
    1c cold water
    1 c apple juice
    1 banana, frozen
    2 big handfuls of spinach

Put in blender in order listed and blend. Drink while super cold!

  5. I’m so late in the game but I’d love to join to the challenge. Heading over now!

  6. Can I just say how glad I am that you posted a link to this challenge? Thank you!!! (for this and for the blog in general – you’re on my “must read” list in Feedly :))

  7. Glad you are liking the challenge @Erin

  8. Yay!

  9. I’m definitely going to give your smoothie a try! :)

  10. @Kristen- I pretty much drink a version of it everyday.

  11. Hi there!

I’m a lurker from Dubai. I requested to follow you on Instagram and just thought you should know who I am little bit more (I get weirded out by people who request to follow me on instagram with no background info whatsoever). :)

    Love your blog! :)

  12. I’m in this challenge with you! I LOVE IT!!! It is sooooo true, if you love your life and you are happy, no reason to overeat!
